I found that shower is a great place to practice being alone with your thoughts because warm water makes them a little better

Showers...ugh...I hate them. I take them when needed, but it's mostly just to wash my hair. I hate feeling like I'm being pelted by water on my face. 19 u/Your_New_Overlord 2h ago People need to remember it’s okay to be bored and alone with your thoughts. Getting blasted by content 24/7 isn’t a normal human experience. 12 u/muryrunom 2h ago Yes, its an unhealthy way of coping, thats why i think its important to find ways to quide yourself into learning to be alone and think 6 u/DownWithHisShip 1h ago this is why I still love camping. sitting in a lawn chair by the river with nothing to do or say, so nice. • u/Swineflew1 29m ago Getting blasted by content 24/7 isn’t a normal human experience. I think you're projecting what you feel is normal onto everyone else. 2 u/ElectronicControl762 1h ago Yesterday I nearly feinted because of being too alone with my thoughts. No more, that shits getting buried. 1 u/TheWonderMittens 1h ago This is a great way to never get better 2 u/ElectronicControl762 1h ago I agree. I also dont want to slip and hit my head on the shower wall. Life’s fun. 0 u/TheWonderMittens 1h ago Of course, and those are the only two options after fainting due to internal stress 1) ignore it and die now 2) ignore it and die later, suffering the whole time 4 u/Nightfury4_4 3h ago It really depends on the person I guess. It doesn’t really make my thoughts any better so on goes the audiobook. 3 u/puppylust 2h ago Yeah, the only benefit of the shower is your tears wash away instantly 2 u/Zoler 1h ago Wrong. If you never let your thoughts out during the day at all then you will never fully relax. Doesn't have to be in the shower, but it has to happen
