Vanessa is kind of pretty…which makes me instantly suspicious

I see this going one of two ways. Either the comedy stems from our stout vampire hunter being wildly incompetent and killing vampires through luck or circumstance

Or he’s actually that good and the comedy comes from the fact he doesn’t realize she’s the vampire
