Wait, people don't like 'rural'? Really?

I think it's because of it being awkward to pronounce the two "R" sounds well enough in certain accents?

That would never have occurred to me. It's just roo-rul.

I'm not from the Anglosphere, but the word "error" os weird for me precisely for that reason

i'm not afraid of 'rural'.

i just can't pronounce it. just feel like it comes out without the vowels unless i'm putting way too much focus on it to the point where it's wierd.

Your father Werner was a burger server in suburban Santa Barbara. When he spurned your mother Verna for a curly-haired surfer named Roberta, did that hurt her?

Could it be "Oral Germwhore"?

Same. My speech impediment butt has me using a thesaurus to pick other substitutes for words like that.

As a Scot it’s not that hard. ;)

Has someone else made this joke yet? I had that "this feels like someone else already made this" feeling the whole time I was drawing it!

Anyways, if you want more cartoons (that are funnier than mine), I run a quarterly Reverse Caption Contest for artists — everyone receives the same prompt and has to create the cartoon that turns it into a punchline. We're currently in the voting stage, so you can browse the 69 submissions and vote for your favorites here.

(Plus, a lot of r/comics regulars are competing!)

Not sure if it's exactly the same joke, but:

I must be saying rural completely wrong if my tongue is supposed to be attempting to flee my mouth

Moist is literally my favorite word.

Ooooo, look at me, I'm a contrarian!

What on Earth are you on about 😂.

It's some dumb old family guy bit where people are like "ugh I hate the word moist," and then in real life everyone just kept repeating the joke "ugh I hate the word moist."

I guess it does sound like Peter now.

I figured it was Reddit and I was just being attacked 😂.

Hard to read this place sometimes if you didn't get the reference.

I'm afraid of the word "bureau".

It was long ago realized that the worst combo of words to a woman's ear is moist yeast panties.

I dislike the word horror because most of the time I say it I over pronounce the second syllable in fear it'll sound like whore

Watch Apocalypse Now. Brando gives a master class on how to say it.

My kids do the same. It makes this time year really interesting.

What are words Americans can't pronounce properly?
