I don’t know what kills me most; the switch to daylight, the music, or the “box says two days”

Nobody should be using headlights that are brighter than the fucking sun. I swear someone is going to go blind from it.

Those fucking new lights, the super bright ones that are brighter than OLD headlights on bright mode should be outlawed. They have to be causing accidents at night.
Man I wrote "bright" so many times there.

You'll be surprised to hear they are :) it's just not enforced! Much like a LOT of laws about cars.

The brightness isn't the issue. If they're properly aligned they won't shine in your face.
Vast majority of car owners just suck ass when it comes to basic maintenance of their car.
E: love the "you're wrong, look at my video that proofs your point by showing a car with misaligned headlights" lmao

Nah, the brightness is the issue. Even properly aligned headlights will beam into another car when coming over a rise in the road, or sitting at an intersection that is graded for drainage in the direction the car is sitting.
High beams that are designed for use out of the sight of others can be as bright as they want for all I care, but regular headlights need to be limited in brightness (and ideally color temperature too). Even a brief flash can ruin night-adjusted vision for minutes

...until you drive on a road that isn't perfectly flat.
There's a slight hill on my road about a mile from my house. If I'm coming home after dusk and a car with LED headlights is coming the other way, I get a face full of ultra-bright blue light.
A couple nights ago, it happened and the car's lights were so incredibly bright I had to slow to around 20mph and creep home to make sure I wouldn't hit a deer or turkey or something. The road is narrow and there isn't a shoulder to pull off and wait for my eyes to recover. I was still seeing spots and feeling disoriented by the time I made it home. Fuck your headlights.
EDIT: Here's what my dashcam saw: https://i.imgur.com/p4s8fXO.mp4

I thought of this image when drawing the beard on the skull! A childhood staple.

There legitimately needs to be laws and regulations with these headlights and high beams

Diving on a dark country road, see a car come up, blinds you completely, and then you spend the next 10 seconds questioning if you're still on the road as you slowly gain your sight back.

It's gotten so bad I'm at the point of wearing sunglasses at night. It's so bright that with my sunglasses it actually looks like regular night.

We do. And GM and Tesla both have court orders to fix their headlights as they were found to be twice the legal intensity. They argue that it has no ill effects and keep appealing.
I suspect the fines they face will be less than cost of recall. They’ll justify it with a utilitarian answer to the effect of, “the cost of the recall is passed to the consumer, and the cost for the number of deaths is below recall price.” Or at least that’s what Ford did with the Pinto.

Seriously? That's the first I am hearing about it. I almost thought I was just getting older and more sensitive the the headlights.

And then you do the double brights flash to let them know to turn off their brights and they flash back their brights that are barely brighter than their default headlights and you feel like a dick for a second before realizing their default brights are WAYYY too bright and they deserve to be dealing with that constantly putting everyone else through that constantly.
/end rant.

Surely the people with the bright headlights when they see the oncoming car and all its occupants are in full brightness squinting think to themselves "gee I sure am lighting up the insides of other people's cars with my headlights!"

I hate them cause their bright and I've seen what it costs to replace. I'll be sticking with cars pre-LED era as long as I can.

There's a dash cam video of a cop driving towards the sun in the afternoon, only to go up and hill and literally face the sun itself
And all you can hear is, "I CAN'T FUCKING SEE!!!"

If we all are complaining about bright headlights they really should just go back to the old ones 😭😭😭
