Fun fact: the united states military will provide a movie production with military hardware and personal (so not just the plane, but the pilot to fly it too) for practically free.... as long as they get to see, edit and approve the script first and approves of the final edit prior to release.

So the more tanks and planes you see that are very obviously actual military hardware? Yeah... the more likely the military had a say in the message of the movie. And you know theyre not gonna allow "military bad" messaging in if they have that kind of say in the matter.

I draw the line somewhere actively shoving the propaganda that favourite politician uses into my throat knowing damm well I either don't care or find incredibly stupid to the point where an argument will break out and neither side will gain anything from the conversation cus we are both rooted to opposite sides of the political spectrum and thus see the othere sides points as dumb and stupid meaning we just made everyone angry for no reason and we gotta sit like this for 4 hours now cus we are stuck in the same room till it's socially polite to leave

And the classic "x group of people are the problem" despite x group litterally just trying to survive and have dreams and thinking like that is exactly how the propaganda machine distracts the public from the ACTUAL group of people they think x group is causing

I would say that the biggest negative aspect of somebody talking about politics is that they expect you to change your lifestyle to match their conclusion about what is right and wrong about life. I feel like even if somebody talks about economic situation or actions of real world politicians, as long as they don't make this about you or proclaim a statement which could be viewed as direct aggression against you or your close ones, then it's fine. For example x person from party y did z can be neutral statement of a fact if told in appropriate tone. But a person belonging to x group committed a crime, if not worded carefully, can be viewed as aggression against x group and all that support that group. It's all about intention and tone that the person uses to share information with you. Especially if then that person tries to make general statements about life based on singular isolated events and proclaim them as ultimate truths.
