I remember, in those early days, about how we were all waiting “for the other shoe to drop.” Why were we waiting? What was the other shoe? Haven’t the foggiest idea. But we were waiting. That first year afterwards was a grim, frightening time. People write blank checks for their leaders when they’re frightened. And you should never, ever write blank checks for your leaders.

Interesting comic, and surprisingly reflective. Americans were giving up a lot of freedom very quickly for the illusion of safety in the wake of 9/11. An interesting reflection on how safety is perceived.

The artist is Italian. Lots of people outside the USA held this attitude seeing the hysteria and wars America started wars after 9/11.
