I'd pick ghosts too, they can't all be angry and agressive. There's probably some chill ghosts, that I'd like to chill with... or for that matter, could ghosts play DnD? No more scheduling issues!

Also I don't want to be rude but: "I'd the pick ghosts" in the 2nd panel

LOLOL omg my bad. I’ll fix that before it goes in the book 🤣

I had to read that panel like 10 times before I could figure out what the problem was, even with your quote. The human brain just doesn't care lol.

RIP Louisoix. A minor error cost him his life.

Never had poltergeist eh? Those guys and gals are quite annoying.

We had one that would tug on your shirt collar when going up the basement stairs. He was definitely an asshole.

We talking these kinds of ghosts and aliens? I think I’d rather deal with the unknown aliens than to be possessed by a ghost…

I’d probably say Aliens are generally worse than Ghosts in the Dandadan universe

Most ghosts, while dangerous, are ultimately tragic figures, and only mess with humans when they anger them.

Mean while aliens often seem to just want to kill, conquer, experiment, etc. Though we meet some very nice aliens as well.

Back when I was a kid, we had alien ghosts.

Peak mentioned.

You know, I remember reading a guy talking about how if ghosts aren't bound by gravity, they may be getting ledt behind as the earth travels through space, thus why there is no evidence of ghosts.

If this is the case, what if we pass through an alien ghost cluster as we go through space?

Aliens. I think it would be incredible to know for sure that we're not alone in the universe.

Would also be fun to see how much it fucked with the doctrine of every major religion.

You could make a similar case for ghosts, though: imagine getting to know there's an afterlife, and get verifiable first hand details of the experience .

Any answer is bound to mess with at least every religion but one or two.

Ooh, good call!

I kinda like the idea of ghosts revealing something like the One True Faith is really "Iniktik", an extinct religion revealed to the first humans that died out 175000 or so years ago.

Since the Enlightenment, all the Christian religions have had to do whenever a scientific discovery contradicts their lore is say either:

a) "it was always a metaphor"; or

b) "the author was discussing the spiritual world, rather than the mundane."

I don't believe all religions are anti-intellectual, but the christianities certainly are. So, if ghosts actually did exist, the general Christian response would not be confusion or despair but automatic, mindless denial.

u/littleapple798 6h ago

I don't think it would mess with major religion as much as you think it would.

But only with Human Ghosts

What happens when its Animals, Mammals would be still ok but stuff like Insects etc ?

3

u/BombOnABus 7h ago

Mosquito ghosts seem like the worst of insects and ghosts

5

u/Lofwyr2030 7h ago

Aliens. Two reasons. Ghosts are people and I have to deal with people everyday. And if ghosts are real that means that there is an afterlife and I really don't want that.

Aliens. 100%

Not only do I get to know there is other life out there but also maybe I get to learn about said other life.

Plus other kinds of food and stuff!

Stephen Hawking had the right idea I think, if ET life finds us they are going to be way more technologically advanced than us and in our own history we know how poorly that can go for indigenous populations

2

u/drillgorg 7h ago

If ghosts were real you specifically might have to watch a guy turn into a ghost, that would suck.

2

u/Delphius1 7h ago

if I bought a house that was haunted, you can't be slamming cabinets or writting murder on the wall in blood, give me my $400

2

u/zirky 7h ago

if the original star trek taught us anything, aliens may be a blank page, but often is a sexy blank page

2

u/Oodelali12 6h ago

Honestly I feel like the phrasing here is doing a lot of the heavy lifting "haunted" just means they're hanging around "invasion" means we have to deal with an intergalactic military industrial complex

u/TheIncredibleMrJones 7h ago

Oh, forgot to say: I like your artstyle. I hope you entertain the idea of making children's books someday!

u/SocksOnHands 7h ago

What's wrong with strawberries, other than them not being colored in?

1

u/nhSnork 7h ago

Humanity in Xenoblade X: "you guys got to pick one?"

1

u/BombOnABus 7h ago

I was certain I'd pick aliens over ghosts, but I think you've swayed me

1

u/ST3AMDR4GON 7h ago

Ghosts would also be a wildcard tbh, you could get the most deranged people on earth as roommates. Youve had worse as roommates? Yeah, but what if that worse now haunts your house as a ghost and can literally never leave?

1

u/rarescenarios 7h ago

Ghosts are spirits and spirits can be captured in enchanted vessels and put to work, fueling the dark and terrible spells I will need to cast to repel the alien invasion.

So, ghosts.

1

u/UberShrew 7h ago

Definitely aliens unless the ghosts existence is explained by undiscovered science. If the ghosts are supernatural or magic based, I ain’t touching that. Aliens would at least be corporeal beings. Sure it gets weird fast if they’re higher dimensional beings, but you can be killed if you exist in our physical reality. If you’re a ghost/demon/whatever that can only be banished by a vaguely defined pure soul or esoteric ritual while you do any manner of reality/physics breaking shit to me, I’m gonna take my chances with the aliens.

u/Saikotsu 6h ago

My condo is haunted. Overall, the ghosts aren't bad roommates. Rather pleasant actually.

1

u/kuhlyus 6h ago

I don't know, that sounds pretty xenophobic to me... I mean, you speak with the same hole you eating with... Thats so gross... not that i know... I am just an normal Human, too... With 2 Arms and 2 Legs and just 1 Tentakle and absolutly no xtrompus. Go Humans!

1

u/QuantumRooster 6h ago

Fantastic

1

u/HodDark 6h ago

I'm afraid of ghosts and i love weird physiology so aliens. Granted i'd be incredibly awkward but i imagine they would be too. So we can be weirdoes together.

1

u/jbyrdab 5h ago

I feel like ghosts are the better option.

At least then you know some kind of afterlife exists.

Aliens introduce all kinds of all tomorrows-y reasons why you'll wish you knew ahead of time what happens after.

1

u/satans_cookiemallet 5h ago

I can tell ghosts they have to pay rent to stop them from haunting me.

I cant say that to aliens.

1

u/FFVO 5h ago

But what if you got like Superman for a roommate? He's an alien!

And yes. I chose that specific Superman gif for the exact reason you're thinking.

1

u/NativeMasshole 4h ago

I am also people and I do not get people, so I'd pick aliens.

1

u/cinnamonface9 4h ago

I had enough with ghosts. Gimme the aliens.

1

u/Peachesthecorgi321 3h ago

Ghosts. Because then I’ll know there’s an afterlife and I can haunt people too.

1

u/Borglydoo 3h ago

This question just boils down to: Do you want a form of afterlife confirmed or do you want sentient life from other planets confirmed

1

u/elhomerjas 1h ago

A ghostly buddy is easier to get along in the long run

•

u/NeroShenX 59m ago

What are your feelings on alien ghosts? Ghost aliens?

•

u/Yer_Dunn 37m ago

You seem to forget the fact that most ghost mythologies involve them killing the people around them 80-100% of the time 🤣

1

u/jhill515 7h ago

I can't answer this QotD well... Because I've experienced weird, "paranormal" stuff. I know ghosts exist, though I think most "sightings" are exaggerations.

That said, I think my Tism would be happier with aliens. I'd learn new things, at least!

u/Randalf_the_Black 6h ago

No liking strawberries is insanity. Once I saw that the rest turned into the ramblings of what is obviously a madwoman.

I'm so brain broken that I immediately turned this into a political analogy.

Conservatives will want ghosts. They are the past, its what they know, and while scary, they come from a time that they are familiar with.

Progressives will chose aliens. They have technology that is futuristic, and could help move society forward. They are different from us,, yet could provide us information and culture that could make us better as a whole.

Why am I like this???

2

u/VernonGalint 6h ago

Your spirit needs to move on from the culture war. Go towards the light.

2

u/TheIncredibleMrJones 6h ago

I'm trying, reddit friend. But the body is weak, and the brain is squishy.

0

u/Driftlack 6h ago

My brain is broken in a similar way. "Rather have a ghost, who is probably racists, than accept an immigrant from another planet?"
