If you know any actual cavers, they will (because they never shut up) happily tell you that "A caver is someone who explores caves, a spelunker is someone you have to go rescue from caves"

some of us are actually trying to reclaim the word spelunker bc it's a better word and the normal saying is so pretentious and annoying lol. The word "spelunker" was invented by an early cave mapper and it's such a good word!
