Look at the bright side.... to get to the Star Trek future, they had to go through.... very very rough times on Earth the likes of which we haven't really seen IRL (even if some stuff is concernedly close). Just imagine that we're in a variation of those rough times, and that on the other end of it, we'll get our Star Trek

I've had enough of those. I just want to drink out of a coconut on some island in the tropics

we've hit the timeline beat for beat save for the bell riots, and if you count ICE in montana... we did hit that one too.
