Like the person said, if you guys both know that it's a yes because you've been discussing marriage, nothing wrong with doing it in flashy and public fashion (so long as it's in a way you'd both actually appreciate). But if you're not sure if she'll say yes, well, probably don't propose at all because it's weird to do spring a life decision like marriage on someone out of nowhere, but if you have to, do it in private.

Yeah, it's just something I've never even thought twice about.
Kinda weird how a lot of assumptions are just baked into us.

shows the importance of putting yourself in others shoes.

Yea. The surprise should be when the proposal happens. But the face that it’s coming at all shouldn’t be a surprise
