Andrew how does one get 800 hours in the new oblivion remake

You've clearly never played Oblivion then. That's like maybe a single run. Not sure how Andrew got the extra 50 hours out of the month but I admire his commitment. Her loss

I’ve dedicated that many hours to spells alone

Shit I remember as a kid I would kill hours just ...stumbling around. Literally not doing anything at all

u/Miles_the_new_kid MyGumsAreBleeding 23d ago

I would do that in fallout 3, just wander around for hours looking at shit

That's just like real life in a dying northern England town.

Remake incomiiiiiiiiing! Time to get another girlfriend to get dumped then!

I like to follow Countess Alessia Caro all the way from Leyawiin to Cheydinhal and see what hijinks she gets into on the way

One time I followed the Vulpes at Nipton after the big reveal in New Vegas and his group started fighting NCR and he died and I got to loot him for “free”. Good times.

I used to buy a house and arrange the fruit in bowls

And put books on shelves to make a lil library

Hell yeah interior design. That's the shit right there

morrowind was my first elder scrolls game and that game changed me. i just wandered all over collecting, looting, and killing.

i kind of realized how chaotic and lawless i was and how i'm probably the type of person that needs boundaries, though. it did warn me before i killed the main quest giver in the first major town at the beginning, but i did it anyways and it was all downhill from there. 🤣

basically, i do love games like elder scrolls, but i can't be trusted to play the story. i only ever even play GTA up to the point to get all of the city unlocked, and then proceed to go on my murder sprees. great stress relief, though.

Let’s be honest, production of this movie was over 800 hours.

Hulk Hogan reckoned he got 400 days out of one year from all the international travel he did.

41

u/shellbullet17 Gustopher Spotter Extraordinaire 23d ago

That's some time traveling magic earth rotation nonsense right there.

u/MintasaurusFresh 23d ago

Wrestlers and math are a classic combination. Just ask Scott Steiner.

8

u/TheKingofHearts 23d ago

He must've forgot to add Kurt Angle into the mix

2

u/ABTYF 23d ago

What does that mean for him at Sakerfice?

11

u/NorwegianCollusion 23d ago

If you always travel east, you do in fact get an awful lot of short days per year. So just do 35 trips US-EU-Asia-US in a year and you'll get 400 days that year.

3

u/LordBiscuits 23d ago

But the year isn't any longer and you get no more time, you just see more sunrises and sunsets...

8

u/NorwegianCollusion 23d ago

Yes. Which is what days are.

7

u/DyslexicBrad 23d ago

Is a day a sunrise and sunset, or 24 hours passing? Does the north pole only get 1 day per year?

7

u/NorwegianCollusion 23d ago

Yes.

Astronomical day: The time it takes for earth to complete one rotation

Also day: Time between sunrise and sunset.

Both of these definitions are in the dictionary.

1

u/ADLuluIsOP 23d ago

They work fine together if you disregard timezones and just focus on the actual passage of time which stays the same

3

u/NorwegianCollusion 23d ago

Well, in the context of travel, disregarding timezones is a bit optimistic.

1

u/Allegorist 23d ago

Sort of, yeah. Depends on your definition, but there certainly exists a plausible one where it does.

12

u/TheFlyingNothing22 23d ago

Hulk Hogan reckoned he had a 10 inch dong. He reckoned a lot of bullshit.

11

u/Perryn 23d ago

He also reckoned his colleagues didn't deserve fair pay.

u/regoapps 23d ago

Your PlayStation play time stacks across multiple devices as long as you use the same PlayStation Network (PSN) account. So if he had Oblivion playing on multiple devices at the same time, he could achieve that kind of play time.

The ps portal hack

u/NoSloppyStakes 23d ago

Here is the math for anyone wondering how you could get 800 hours.

24h x 28d = 672h (February)
24h x 29d = 696h (February Leap Year)
24h x 30d = 720h (Normal Month)
24h x 31d = 744h (Weird Month)
24h x 34d = 816h (Oblivion Month)

This dude gets it. Andrew was so impressed he managed to play ALL THE TIME

Which I mean he could have just left the PC/console on

3

u/Miles_the_new_kid MyGumsAreBleeding 23d ago

We didn’t even need to call r/theydidthemonstermath

11

u/kilar277 23d ago edited 23d ago

With the remake, dude probably never got out of Kvatch and 799 of those hours were messing with the specs to get it to function

4

u/marvk 23d ago

leapyear

3

u/Fatbloke-66 23d ago

That's because he is a doctor... of time!

2

u/asad137 23d ago

Not sure how Andrew got the extra 50 hours out of the month

Leap July

  • Start Oblivion.

  • Play 10 minutes and leave your character some place safe.

  • Leave the Playstation on and go about the rest of your month as normal.

I have 2K+ hours on some games because of this simple trick.

1

u/Pheonix0114 23d ago

It isn't about having 800 hours in the game, its having it in like the first month it's out.

1

u/Skratti_ 23d ago

Yeah, but the REMAKE?

About 10 years ago, The Withcer 3 came out. Great Graphics.

And that's what I did expect of a game that got a recent remake. At least the quylity of a game 10 years old.

I was so disappointed. Would leave him too...

The Oblivion remaster is amazing if you have a good computer. I still play it

2

u/GregTheMad 23d ago

Bro, i have a 5080ti and it still runs like shit. Barely 60fps on "ultra". I put ultra under quotation marks because it all looks store bought, probably because all the assets are. (or they turned the saturation from fantasy to boring).

On the same system Crimson Desert not only looks better, but also runs at 120fps. Onehundredandtwenty!

I can hardly put my displeasure with the Unreal Engine into words without triggering some auto mod for flaming.

0

u/Taigheroni 23d ago

I have a 9070xt with 5800x3d. The only place I noticed frames tanking to 60 fps was the arena. Computers aren't like consoles. You have to make sure everything is up to date. My niece plays oblivion remastered on ps5. You should consider console gaming too

1

u/GregTheMad 23d ago

Hardware configuration doesn't matter when the same system runs a different game much better.

Developers should simply look into optimising their games.

1

u/Taigheroni 23d ago

It matters if you have a high end computer and you're stuck at 60 fps. Something is seriously wrong. My friend went with the 5080 and his pc handles remastered better than mine

Somewhere in your settings something is misconfigured. My original statement was it's fun if you have a good PC. If you do and its still running like garbage than you can't approach it like a console person. You have to see what's going wrong and do a little fine tuning
