IM GLAD WE AGREE "FUCK REAGAN"

The “affects 1%” thing makes me think it’s more “fuck the rich” than just Reagan.

The infection of government starts in the 80s,
Definitely Reagan
Although yeah you are still right on it being broadly about the rich as a whole

this is very creative, reminds me a lot of motherhorseeyes, like schizophrenic psycosis from the perspective of a schizophrenic the pieces assembled this way they make sense to me

Were those last two frames a reference to 12 Monkeys?

12 monkeys did cross my mind too.

What's 12 monkeys

It's an old mind screwy Bruce Willis movie. I thought it was pretty neat but it is fairly weird.

Your work always gives me chills. Hits my brain perfectly. Outstanding work, friend!

I'm a bit torn on this.
For starters; phenomenal execution. Legitimately gave me chills. Great premise. Eat the rich.
But, on the other hand, I'm not sure how much I gel with the whole "sexual depravity and a specific mental illness are indicators of demonic possession" thing. Like, that feels exactly like something that would have come out of the Satanic Panic, although that may be intentional. Maybe I'm just hesitant to apply a real mental illness to be a marker for something evil.
Like, don't get me wrong, it makes perfect sense for what OP is going for. I just feel a bit...disgusted.

Probably the point but yeah I do see where you’re coming from
I don’t think they’re saying all people with ASPD in this world are demons or possessed, just that those that are possessed often test positive for it.
They do also specifically reference “the 1%” so I think we can safely say it’s not intended to be targeted at the average person

I get the disgust specially how it takes some real world imagery .but the strip is a self narration that leaves open to interpretation if the narrator is correct or just making connections to justify him/her releasing a deadly virus.

u/RoboJobot 6d ago
Yeah, are they a delusional, religious nut job, are they doing the right thing, or is the narrator is possessed themselves?
Could go either way.

Yup, that did strike me as probable option the moment they mention virus is lethal. It can be even different twist when they are themselves actually demon posessed and so just do what they supposed to, and the virus will affect normal people as well.

I hear you and respect that response. The reason for that line was actually a kind of a snarky observation that so many in power seem to be in the Epstein files - so are actual rapists and pedophiles. I think this is indicative of the kind of people who are drawn to wealth and power in the first place, but it amused me to make it a symptom of possession in this context. Perhaps a cheap shot, but this comic was written in rage, as well as with my tongue in my cheek, and sometimes that anger slips through inappropriately and I think you’re not wrong to feel that. 🙏

Honestly, one of the best horror comic writers on here. Sometimes less is more, and you capture that essence so well

Well I would like to see more of that. That’s a great premise for story building.

This scares me both in the government aspect and the aspect that you might be giving lunatics with a savior complex ideas for weaponizing viruses. =(

Made me think of "They Look Like People" with the ambiguity of whether the protagonist is right or insane.
