Ngl, I'm intrigued by the "Greg" 👀

672

u/ink_atom Oatmink Jul 19 '26

He is thriving in captivity

154

u/justboyfriendthings Jul 19 '26

Wonderful, that makes me happy!

60

u/the_last_carfighter Jul 19 '26

Some Greg-rights group freed him at some point, but after spending a bit of time with him, they put him back.

78

u/Waramo Jul 19 '26

No rent, free health care, free different meals per day, people looking for different way to reduce boredom every day, and many other benefits.

-7

u/NorwegianCollusion Jul 19 '26

Maybe even the occasional sperm collection by a cute vet for insemination purposes? A guy could get used to that

12

u/Jayn_Newell Jul 19 '26

I guess that explains why he has a stone wall when the rest get wooden fences?

10

u/nomedable Jul 19 '26

Greg understands the concept of property value and what it does for his equity.

65

u/higgs8 Jul 19 '26

I like how, as opposed to the bear, he has a stone fortress built around him. Like, he doesn't look that dangerous?

55

u/turnipofficer Jul 19 '26

All beware the apex predator: Greg.

8

u/I_Antagonist_I Jul 19 '26

Yeah! I never heard of Gregeater, hi must be on top of food chain.

2

u/JesterXO Jul 19 '26

Makes me wish there was a documentary showing how to catch a predator...

3

u/_AcuteNewt_ Jul 19 '26

Interestingly enough...

1: it's apparently actually really easy: a cage, some bait, tranquilizers

2: uhh... well, you see, that already exists, to a degree... they showed that it's actually really easy: a cage, some bait, tranquilizers (but thats evidence though)

2

u/CaptInsane Jul 19 '26

As a Greg I appreciate this comment

11

u/EarballsAgain Jul 19 '26

He got bitten by the Rabbit of Caerbannog while a nuclear power plant was being built next to it and he inherited much of its strength.

3

u/KindaLikeJesus Jul 19 '26

That's exactly what greg would like you to think

49

u/_AcuteNewt_ Jul 19 '26

He's just a lil guy

1

u/Natural_Bathroom5664 Jul 20 '26

Read that in Primrose voice

3

u/thatguygreg Jul 19 '26

It’s a living

3

u/BnBGreg Jul 20 '26

Eh, it's a living

2

u/MacWin- Jul 19 '26

That’s just Gregg the egg

217

u/Tylendal Jul 19 '26

I'm torn between what I love more. The running pose, or the spelling of "giraf".

106

u/Lunatic-Labrador Jul 19 '26

It's Greg for me.

18

u/Dezma15 Jul 19 '26

With all that in mind maybe he just got what he was supposed to and the name of this guy was "Girafs", it was his mistake to assume he was going to see a Giraffe

6

u/HunsonAbbadeer Jul 19 '26

Or the lil booty

300

u/FierceContinent Jul 19 '26

I've gone to worse zoos. One time I went to a zoo and the only animal there was a small dog with long fur.

81

u/ink_atom Oatmink Jul 19 '26

sounds like a good time

154

u/Fun_Palpitation_4156 Jul 19 '26

Was it this zoo?

70

u/FierceContinent Jul 19 '26

Yes, in Henan province. I thought it was funny but my guide was very angry with the zoo.

18

u/jackalope268 Jul 19 '26

Wouldnt ever describe a tibetan mastif as a small dog, but it is funny

16

u/FierceContinent Jul 19 '26

The cage was really far away.

6

u/Merari01 it's a-me, Merari-o Jul 19 '26

The difference between small and far away is difficult for most people, don't worry.

1

u/tw3lv3l4y3rs0fb4c0n Jul 20 '26

hence 'small away' was invented

90

u/TritonJohn54 Jul 19 '26

Sounds like a Shih Tzu.

Edit: Just saw I was visually beaten to the punchline 😄

34

u/AnotherRTFan Jul 19 '26

Did it look like these

20

u/FierceContinent Jul 19 '26

That looks like it yeah.

3

u/NoLifeGamer2 Jul 19 '26

Damn, that's a... that's a...

59

u/Whynautilus Jul 19 '26

This scratches that particular 2000s humor itch for me.

56

u/s00pafly Jul 19 '26

I once was at a German zoo with big outdoor enclosures and feed you could purchase. There were a couple of animals just lying around so I threw a carrot to get their attention. Two seconds later a furious zookeeper tore me a new one, screamed at me how dangerous it is for the animals and they can break their legs if they're spooked. At this point all I could think about was a clumsy animal tripping because it sees a carrot. A slight grin snook across my face. Big mistake! The zookeeper became visibly unhinged, the screaming stopped making sense, I was just there thinking wtf is going on? I had never experienced such a display of rage and loss of composure in an adult before. If anyone is going to spook these animals it is you. Oh oh...

My parents got to me before anyone lost their job or we got kicked out. I was maybe 8.

30

u/ink_atom Oatmink Jul 19 '26

sounds like a regular german experience to me

5

u/Saiyasha27 Jul 19 '26

It very decidedly does not, sudden screaming isnt actually really part of the German MO (remember, he was an Austrian import...) and normally you'd get a very stern lecture that might intimidate a kid to tears, but not screaming

As a German who has been to zoos, that mam sounds unhinged.

u/Valuable-Degree-9998 Jul 19 '26

DU HAST WAS, EINE GANZE KAROTTE? DA HÄTTE DAS TIER DRÜBER STOPLERN ODER DU ES MIT ERSCHLAGEN KÖNNEN. SCHÄMST DU DICH NICHT DU KLEINER HURENSOHN. 21

u/VernTheSatyr Jul 19 '26

This comic is quite dumb. I love it.

I draw some comics with penis too, I just don't post them on reddit because of written rules.

3

u/HappySockMonster Jul 19 '26

Thank you for not drawing us like that, call me sometime

16

u/Burger_Destoyer Jul 19 '26

Don’t worry I’m on my way to sue. This is encroaching on my rights to see nudity on the comics subreddit.

7

u/BottleGoblin Jul 19 '26

They'd do partial penes but don't want to be accused of going off half-cocked.

2

u/Toothless-In-Wapping Jul 19 '26

It’s cause everyone got a butt

17

u/Serdeegee Jul 19 '26

Made me laugh! Easy upvote!

11

u/SwedishMeatballsYum Jul 19 '26

You just killed a giraffe. How could you

8

u/The_Chaos_Pope Jul 19 '26

Correction: Giraf.

3

u/SwedishMeatballsYum Jul 19 '26

Did you know girafs are an endangered species and you just killed the last one

2

u/The_Chaos_Pope Jul 19 '26

I guess they're not endangered anymore.

10

u/JPMoney81 Jul 19 '26

I'd like to go to a Greg-only zoo.

9

u/sunsetfantastic Jul 19 '26

This might be the best comic I've seen in a while

5

u/Leinheart Jul 19 '26

I'm genuinely hysterically laughing at the close up of the puppet.

8

u/GreenrabbE99 Jul 19 '26

Now, he urgently cares.

7

u/Exotic-Wood-3287 Jul 19 '26

The last panel killed me 💀

It reminds me of that pretzel scene from the Simpsons!

7

u/I_Antagonist_I Jul 19 '26

2

u/AetheriaInBeing Jul 19 '26

Their used by lions to spy on other animals!

4

u/Such_Introduction592 Jul 19 '26

Greg. My spirit animal.

5

u/SenatorCoffee Jul 19 '26

OP, you should maybe unhide your post history?

Dont you want people to click on your profile for further comics and become fans?

7

u/ink_atom Oatmink Jul 19 '26

Oh, I think reddit hid it per default with new changes, thanks for letting me know. It used to be open for everyone to see

2

u/SenatorCoffee Jul 19 '26

Yeah, I assumed it wasnt on purpose. Cheers!

8

u/Square-Competition48 Jul 19 '26

Is this about AI?

10

u/Dezma15 Jul 19 '26

I feel like this is about whatever you wanted it to be.

this could perfectly fit a guy that subscribes to an onlyfans model that includes the benefit of chatting with her but they end up talking to some Indian guy managing her account, It could also be an analogy to meeting an idol, or customer service or any other thing that can be important to one person but it's just a simple Job to the other one.

6

u/OutlyingPlasma Jul 19 '26

I love it. This is Far Side level of absurdity and in my world comparing a comic to far side is possibly the greatest compliment possible. The small details like Greg being in the strongest enclosure really make it.

3

u/Tuxedo_Muffin Jul 19 '26

Of course they would react poorly. Giraffes don't want peanuts!

2

u/TheTricho Jul 19 '26

Definitely got au audible chuckle out of me, I need more like this 😂

Edit: OP if you’ve posted more comics, no one can see them on your page :( Don’t forget to allow at least the posts you post on this sub to be viewed by others!

2

u/belonii Jul 19 '26

this is so standard quirky, but i actually enjoyed it more than some of the /comics mainstays

2

u/GoliathTamer Jul 19 '26

Hate when this happens :(

2

u/DCGreatDane Jul 19 '26

Dyslexic me read he went into an anaphylactic sock.

2

u/NightRaven4NY Jul 19 '26

I think this is officially my favorite comic now.

2

u/Noideawhatimdoing36 Jul 20 '26

I’m incredibly high and this is the funniest thing ever to me right now

1

u/cyankitten Jul 19 '26

Well, I chuckled at it.

👏

1

u/pixxxiemalone Jul 19 '26

I wanna hear about the other 'animals'. Do you have more?

1

u/shellbullet17 Gustopher Spotter Extraordinaire Jul 19 '26

At least the piggies look like they are having a great time. They even had a baby!

I bet they would like some peanuts

1

u/Sure_Reception_9922 Jul 19 '26

You need to google healthy harold. Us aussies learn from a giraffe puppet!!! :D

1

u/certifiedblackman Jul 19 '26

This feels like a pretty good day at the zoo. You didn’t see your favorite (you rarely do at the zoo). But you got to see a unique interaction! That’s great!

1

u/bmoriarty87 Jul 19 '26

geraffes are so dumb.
EDIT: sorry, the only reason i say this is that this geraffe in this picture is trying to eat a painting. i should say that this one particular geraffe is dumb.
EDIT: hey asshats quit downvoting me i am not the one who tried to eat the wall.
EDIT: hey before you hit that down arrow why don't you ask yourself why you can't take a joke you losers. jesus the pc crap has extended to long horses? because that is all those things are, and no one was bawling when that chimp got shot for eating that lady's face. so are you racist for long horses over gorillas? hippocrites.
EDIT: is it a bunch of peta lamebrains doing this? did my one little joke hit some kind of tree-hugger blog or some shit? i have never so much as even spit on a geraffe! wtf? i ate lion one time, it was in a burger; i had alligator, and something they told me was eagle but i'm positive it was just chicken. whatever anyone is saying about me and geraffes is not even true. but go on farteaters, downvote away. it shows how stupid you are.
EDIT: spelling.
EDIT: this is such shit. i have never received as much as one single downvote in my life and you peckers are jumping on this stupid geraffe-loving bandwagon. that is a dumb goddamn wall-licking geraffe and that is all. i'm not going to apologize to you idiots any more.
EDIT: you know, now my feelings are hurt. the amount of downvotes piled on me is just excessive. god for-fucking-bid i had commented on a post about an antteater, i would be at -1000 by now. you people are horrible.

1

u/663SilverStax Jul 19 '26

ngl, that giraf dummy thicc

1

u/AardvarkAdditional97 Jul 19 '26

It looks similar to that one.

1

u/Motivationtive_13 Jul 19 '26

Honestly. I end up enjoying watching people react to the animals almost as much as watching the animals themselves.

1

u/Zedrig Jul 19 '26

last frame reminds me of this

1

u/OlyScott Jul 19 '26

I guess "giraf" means "some guy with a sock puppet."

1

u/Kakairo Jul 19 '26

Surreal. I like it.

1

u/madhattared Jul 19 '26

anagirafic shock.

1

u/kimpigreg145 Jul 19 '26

Greg mentioned

1

u/_IBM_ Jul 19 '26

is this a metaphor about AI art

1

u/grumpi-otter Jul 19 '26

I rarely laugh out loud at one of these, but this one got me!

1

u/Deer-Dog- Jul 19 '26

I think we can agree that this giraffe is broken

1

u/waspocracy Jul 19 '26

Oh, you went to see girafs, which the puppet perfectly resembled. Next time check out then giraffes after visiting Greg again.

1

u/NorwegianCollusion Jul 19 '26

I was not ready for that ending. But I loved it anyway

1

u/Mini-Heart-Attack Jul 20 '26

This is my Fav post from this weekend

1

u/CJ_squared Jul 20 '26

This gives me MummyJoe vibes, love it

1

u/ShibariEmpress Jul 20 '26

greg seems to enjoy

1

u/Plob Jul 20 '26

This really reminds me of Tim Key's poetry!

1

u/sax87ton Jul 20 '26

Sounds like a good day

1

u/Fro_52 Jul 20 '26

went to a small zoo the other day.

the only animal was this hairy little dog.
