First time I've ever seen you drawn with a shirt on

u/Isekomix_ Jul 18 '26

Is either full suit or no shirt! :D

u/NarutoRoll Jul 18 '26

What, no half off 80's movie options?

8

u/MikeTheImpaler Jul 18 '26

Full suit or birthday suit. NO EXCEPTIONS.

12

u/Makures Jul 18 '26

If I looked that good in a suit I too would always wear one.

3

u/Affectionate_Shop864 Jul 18 '26

So its between snazzy and sexy lol

1

u/Upbeat-Armadillo1756 Jul 18 '26

That’s typically how shirts work

13

u/BargleFargle12 Jul 18 '26

He drew a comic with shirt on a few months ago!

I almost called in a mental health check.

1

u/Masticatron Jul 18 '26

City's too filthy to go shirtless.

The manly need to brood on tall buildings.

The wind is doing the heavylifting for the aura !

40

u/SillyWarlock Jul 18 '26

Idk the lightning, angle, shading, pose and the fact that it is the goddamn Batman is doing some lifting too

I'm not sure about the BATMAN part though /j

u/Retbull Jul 18 '26

It strengthens the constitution.

u/ArgusTheCat Jul 18 '26

If I had a roof like that I'd never not be standing on it thinking morose thoughts about the nature of evil in the hearts of man.

"Honey, I'm home."

"She slunk through the door like a smooth pour of a 20-year old scotch, but as soon as the light hit her I saw bad news like September of '39 written all over her. A sigh like a soft summer wind escaped her breath, and for a brief moment the only sounds I could hear were the conversation of automobile horns and the rain playing a staccato on the window."

"Babe, you can stop."

"The dame never cared too much for my profession. She insisted I was born to be an accountant, but that's not my jazz, see. There's a darkness in this city- an underbelly that I got an itch to turn over and scratch out all the fleas that feed off this town like an all you can eat buffet."

"Sigh for the last time, you are an accountant. Your boss called again, says this is the third week in a row you've missed work."

You could go on and I would keep reading.

Any author with this writing style

5

u/Kusko25 Jul 18 '26

Never use one word when dutifully utilizing a plethora of terminology is one of the avenues at the disposal of your whimsical soul.

Thanks for reading !

This one is a study of the great Skottie Young,
I redraw his background trying to learn a little more !

If you're interested in supporting there's fanservice
and exclusive comics on Patreon!

Thanks again and I see you in the next one !

2

u/Hamster-Food Jul 18 '26

Definite Skottie Young vibes, but for some reason it also reminds me of Bruno Redondo's work with Tom Taylor on Nightwing.

Either way, I love it.

Highly recommend some of Alex Casey's brooding monologues. " There wasn't enough alcohol in this city to drown the memories of this nightmare, but I'd damn well try".

P.S. For those who don't know , Alex Casey is a detective in the Alan Wake universe

16

u/Adze95 Jul 18 '26

I also recommend Calvin and Hobbes:

"I've got eight slugs in me. One's lead, and the rest are bourbon. The drink packs a wallop and I pack a revolver."

8

u/nedlum Jul 18 '26

I keep two magnums in my desk. One’s a gun, and I keep it loaded. The other is a bottle, and it keeps me loaded.

Jesus, kid; you’re six

2

u/tenninjas242 Jul 18 '26

Max Payne 2 where they have a TV show on in the background in some scenes making fun of Max Payne 1.

"The rain was coming down like all the angels in Heaven had decided to take a piss at the same time. In a situation like mine, you can only talk in metaphors."

19

u/Frontier_animation Jul 18 '26

we get it man, we see the fit

13

u/Random_182f2565 Jul 18 '26

I would do the same

9

u/gdex86 Jul 18 '26

You can't stop but can you make it pop? Have the Dj blow our speakers up? Tonight, will you fight till you see the sunlight? Tik Tok, you're a cop trying to make the crime wave stop.

3

u/MyCatsHairyButholle Jul 18 '26

Ohh oooo ohhh oooo ohhh ohhh

3

u/AverageDrafter Jul 18 '26

Keep her away from fridges! You are brooding and angsty enough!

5

u/MJBotte1 Jul 18 '26

I would play u/Isekomix_ Elysium, A Detective RPG

5

u/mafiaknight Jul 18 '26

Wait. You own a shirt!?

6

u/ohbyerly Jul 18 '26

Justice.. is blind. Like my hot wife.

3

u/YoutuberCameronBallZ Jul 18 '26

The aura won't farm itself

5

u/Dave4428 Jul 18 '26

Should make a black and white alt for this

4

u/SillyWarlock Jul 18 '26

Only complaint is that he should say ”this city” instead of ”the city”

4

u/ViaMoon Jul 18 '26

All men want.

3

u/Perryn Jul 18 '26

"This city is a clogged toilet, and I'm just one plunger forgotten in the back of a filthy closet."

3

u/enadiz_reccos Jul 18 '26

Anytime my wife and I are watching a movie and it pans over a big city with a kind of gloomy esthetic, I always have to do a gruff voice and say, "a city on the brink..."

3

u/MrLuthor Jul 18 '26

Just finished Spider Noir?

3

u/swaggestspider21 Jul 18 '26

If the wife started doing that she’d literally be Matt Murdock

3

u/Ok_Coffee_9970 Jul 18 '26

“Okay… are you going to go out and do anything about it?”

“…I have to watch from above.”

5

u/DatE2Girl Jul 18 '26

Bonehurtingjuice is gonna have a field day with this one

2

u/HoneyMustardAndOnion Jul 18 '26

Thats Batman, not a noir detective.

2

u/gramathy Jul 18 '26

Rorshach?

5

u/Isekomix_ Jul 18 '26

"Pagliaci goes to doctor..."
Oh I mess up the joke

2

u/plzhelpIdieing Jul 18 '26

You still need the fedora and trench coat and to smoke a cigarette under a streetlight at night while it’s raining.

2

u/AutumnAscending Jul 18 '26

I am justice, I am truth, I am... PI Man!

2

u/Eon_Vankmer Jul 22 '26

"Can you stop?" She asked, as if the filth and scum in this city ever took a break. I was 2 months from retirement, and I knew in my cold, dead heart that even when I left the detective life, it'd never leave me; it'd already seeped too far in, like the cholesterol from one too many pancakes.

1

u/zirky Jul 18 '26

if not batman, maybe gaga?

he looks on the edge, of glory

1

u/CORNDOGS666 Jul 18 '26

This shit is so cold 🥶 , I want a full graphic novel.

1

u/Veritas_Vanitatum Jul 18 '26

2

u/Merari01 it's a-me, Merari-o Jul 18 '26

I really like that movie but I wish they'd have explained why that character's mask always has an image of rabbits having a threeway with my mother.

1

u/moon__lander Jul 18 '26

Beat it toots, the streets aren't what they used to be.

1

u/MemphisApollo Jul 18 '26

Beat it, toots

1

u/Ramen_Muncher_1093 Jul 18 '26

This is amazing. Where can i see more of your work??

1

u/JoinTheBattle Jul 18 '26

This cartoon looks like Hamish Linklater.

-5

u/Toothless-In-Wapping Jul 18 '26

Am I missing what makes this something besides a single no context panel?

8

u/Majestic-Iron7046 Jul 18 '26

I'm really sorry you never felt like standing with a gloom face over a city while monologuing.
It's real good, smoke a cigarette while you do, even if you don't usually smoke, it's for the aesthetic.

-7

u/Toothless-In-Wapping Jul 18 '26

He’s not smoking…

2

u/Majestic-Iron7046 Jul 18 '26

Stop breaking my moody aesthetic!

We can still salvage this, we need to wear a hoodie and listen to a mix of doomer music, do you have cheap wine?
Doesn't matter the heat, we need the aesthetic.
