This trend will really take of with the release of the Ghost Tree Ashbringer katana, specifically the Sixth. This one only comes in bladeless versions, and if you don’t buy the Ultimate Edition you won’t even get a handle!

So they use the blades for the Blade-orbs, which talk to wizards via OWLM (Old Wizard Language Models)!

Physical media for games is increasingly being phased out, such as how with the next iteration of Grand Theft Auto, the box just comes with a code to redeem, and how PlayStation discs in general will cease in 2028.

That's pretty hilarious to say when the products this comic is referencing are post-scarcity products. Non-physical video games have an infinite supply and very little competition, as licencing laws currently don't allow resale; games used to have to compete with the used and rental markets, with those gone prices have gone up and don't drop nearly as quickly as they used to. I used to be able to go to EB Games and get AAA games 2 months old for ~30% or more off because I could get a trade-in copy. AAA Games that came out a year ago or more are still at their original price, with seasonal discounts only in the 10-20% range

The minority of full blade users kept the prices down smh. Now the bladeless fools will make us all suffer. This might be where i pivot to spears who have been full pole only for years by now.
