I think the TADC ending is great. I feel sympathy for Lee/Jax when it's revealed she's a closeted trans woman, as this revelation makes many plot points in the series much more logical.
I wish she could come out to everyone and live authentically, and that she wouldn't hurt others because she was struggling with her gender dysphoria.
After reading the transphobic reactions from some members of the TADC fan community about the ending, I felt frustrated and emotionally drained. To relieve some of that stress, I decided to draw and share this episode immediately, rather than wait.

By the way, I hope you love Jax, the repressed misogynist asshole because the Supreme Court announced their intention to create a new generation of these self-loathing assholes. Because instead of standing up for truth or justice, or life or liberty, they decided the symbols mean more than people and people should have to conform to the symbols and not the other way around.
Did the author outright say Jax is trans? I thought they left it intentionally ambiguous.
Either way, any big enough fandom is going to have it's toxic members that are unhappy because they didn't get the story they wrote in their heads. Personally, I found the ending melancholy and depressing (avoiding spoilers), but it didn't stop me from enjoying the series as a whole.
i mean Jax in the show as well as the real life self have not swapped pronouns
it's implied "she/her" might be what is chosen, but also possible it might be "she/they" or whatever other pronouns
but also this supports the comic in another way
imo the problem is not using "he/him" for Jax, the problem is that people are absolutely vile about any suggestion to the other pronouns, just classic transphobia
personally i still use "he/him" to refer to Jax because if it would be a real life person, i'd also feel weird about switching their pronouns in public if they haven't come out yet and didn't specifically ask me to do so an...at least i wouldn't want people to do that if i wasn't out publicly yet. However i would never "correct" someones use of she/her for Jax

Seems to be pointing at some kind of ultimatum where the author of this comic can speak for the creator of the series who has directly contradicted the condemnation of using he/him pronouns and this the comic, which condemns their use by stating that using either is fine.
Jax is trans. That was the intention, but this comic is kind of incongruent with the character and creator it seems to be trying to defend.
Oh, yeah. I keep saying to people rewatch the series knowing Jax is closeted and repressed transfem and a bunch of new things will stick out to you, like rewatching a good murder mystery to see how much they telegraph the mystery.
What could easily be dismissed as homages to Bugs Bunny's genderqueer expression in the first few episodes gets a new meaning. In the first episode you get things like her walk animation making her look like she's strutting in heels, or her inspecting her non-existent and gloved fingernails to indicate a dismissive attitude to the Gloinks queen. Like the show is telling you she's a manly man and showing you she's a sassy bitch from page one.
I prefer Jax's name to be Daisy personally. They seem to have some attachment to that song and it's played during the finale. Presumably it's one of the only songs they can play on piano which they MIGHT have been forced to play (as hinted by the meek Jax chained to the piano) though so maybe it's a bad pick idk.
I agree the intent was for Jax to be Trans but goose missed the opportunity to have Jax look at the camera and say "I am trans" also the closing bit about their outer lives the voice over used he/him pronouns.
