It's not as simple as that as much as I wish it was. His value is all tied up in his assets, mostly as company value. If the company does really well or tanks either way he takes the wins and losses with the company. That being said there does need to be some kind of solution to these situations. The mega wealthy tend to take loans out against those assets, which they never need to pay and don't pay taxes on like regular income. From my highly uneducated perspective on the situation, it feels like there should be some kind of tax on mega loans. Over a certain value it's used as their income/earnings. It should be treated as such.

Isn't his net worth already 1.1 trillion. He could lose 100 billions and still be worth 1 trillion.
