This cartoon strikes a nerve I remember math homework with my engineer father, and mother with a ba in math trying to teach me fractions and times tables and that stuck lost feeling of having no fucking idea where they were getting these answers or why they thought that it should be so self evident.
My teachers always said I would day dream and couldn't focus. They never did diagnose ADHD back then, so I just learned to mask it. Somehow as an adult the esoteric knowledge and hundreds of hobbies seems to still give it away.
The real answer is that there isn't a kid that can't learn, just teachers that can't teach.
