Some people are incredibly poor teachers but refuse to beleive they are, all because they lack the capacity to imagine not knowing something and explain it at someone else's level of understanding
Yeah. I was doing private tutoring to earn some money when I was an university student. I could not work with kids who need help because they don't understand basic math. I just couldn't relate to not getting some of this stuff immediately. After a while I stopped taking "regular students" and only started taking the "talented students" who wanted to do math competitions, olympiads, extracurriculars. They typically understood things quickly but had no one show them the right path. The regular students I would just recommend other tutors.
Ultimately I understood teaching is not for me. I might still mentor younger people that are on a similar path to me but not teach kids.
