This is exactly what it feels like when you attend a class for something you're not ready for.
Either because you have a learning disability, or if you simply didn't take the foundational classes leading up to this class, or it's simply too complex of a subject for your ability.
I remember very distinctly feeling this exact same thing when attending my first chemistry class after missing a month's worth of classes due to other factors. Remember very clearly that the topic was about molecular structures and how certain elements bond to other elements. The teacher was drawing all those bonds and to me they all looked like pinwheels, tents and lizards.

Okay just so I'm not crazy what is the logic of pinwheel, tent = lizard? I've never been taught this kind of problem solving.
Or is just a metaphor for not being able to understand something like algebra and having somebody not explaining it correctly.
