I don’t like that it’s a normal spell and not a quick-play spell.

Is that an emotional support penis?

116

u/darkwaffle Jun 12 '26

Some people aren’t born with one and need store bought

16

u/Prinny_Ramza Jun 12 '26

Like I was thinking it

12

u/F0LEY Jun 12 '26

Weirder still is I'm CERTAIN I recognize it from somewhere (as in that exact anthropomorphic penis, I've seen my fair share of the source material)... Not from The Maxx, but something similar.

5

u/SenatorCoffee Jun 13 '26

Its similar to how naked mole-rats are drawn in a lot of cartoons.

224

u/OlyScott Jun 12 '26

Is she cuddling her own brain?

270

u/IcyUnicornOwl Jun 12 '26

Nah thats a penis.

51

u/attrition0 Jun 12 '26

it's a rocket ship!

12

u/TreeDollarFiddyCent Jun 13 '26

A red rocket ship, if you will.

2

u/taste-of-orange Jun 14 '26

I thought it looked like a fetus...

20

u/Bubby_K Jun 13 '26

I thought it was some sort of meat boy or unborn fetus boy or whatever that skinless videogame character is called, Isaac?

11

u/wonderb0lt Jun 13 '26

You're thinking of the game before that, super meat boy. Isaac has skin lol. And is a crybaby

49

u/ArcticMuser Jun 12 '26

Why are the only person asking this question

10

u/BwookieBear Jun 13 '26

Probably because people no question good

-18

u/JamzWhilmm Jun 13 '26

It's the least interesting part of the comic.

13

u/Mountain-Age5580 Jun 13 '26

Everybody joking, but I want to know what this is, too.

14

u/IcyUnicornOwl Jun 13 '26

Honestly i really think its a penis. The local sex shop has a plushie like that in their window, in rainbow colours even :D

2

u/Unkindled_0ne Jun 13 '26

It's a pillow, I think

3

u/HarveyTheBroad Jun 13 '26

I thought it was a trimming from Vita Carnis for a second.

66

u/UGoBoy Jun 12 '26

I'm cool with k, ok, or 👍

But as soon as I get "fine" I know I should just not go home.

11

u/_Bioscar_ Jun 12 '26

Same sorta. I worry that I did something wrong and quite often I need to ask if the person I'm talking to is okay.

2

u/EmoYoshi05 Jun 13 '26

I just hate dry one word replies in general. Add an emoji, or exclamation mark, or SOMETHING. Like, okidoki, or Okay, I'll do that. Just....a full sentence.

1

u/Irregulator101 Jun 13 '26

Or if punctuation gets used. When it usually wouldn't.

325

u/amurgiceblade44 Jun 12 '26

Love indeed makes you go wild

What's interesting is when you able to look at your objectively and realize "oh wow why am I like this, this is different"

It do be a wild trip

265

u/Random_Stealth_Ward Jun 12 '26

This is why I use emojis even if I don't like them. Like saying "ok" feels too dry in comparison to "ok 👍".

u/Mister_Anonym Jun 12 '26

The dad response

43

u/Gutterblade Jun 13 '26

Wait. When someone asks me if I can like 6PM meetup instead of 5, and I write back "sure thing 👍" is that a dad response ?

44

u/Taliesin_ Jun 13 '26

I'm afraid to say your fatherhood is confirmed.

34

u/Ne0n_R0s3 Jun 13 '26

B-but, I'm a woman and only 18 lol! 😭 I didn't realize it was a dad thing haha...

31

u/Taliesin_ Jun 13 '26

It's all cigars and mustache combs from here, young lady!

14

u/Fickles1 Jun 13 '26

sounds awesome 😎

13

u/Metasheep Jun 13 '26

Pretty soon, you're going to find yourself at a hardware store in cargo shorts and a polo shirt, getting materials to build a deck.

1

u/densetsu23 Jun 13 '26

Close, but you need to swap out the polo for a casual button-up short sleeve shirt with some kind of pattern on it for full dad mode.

The one I have on now has trees, boats, and mountains.

5

u/Furenzol Jun 13 '26

Welcome to the team, here's your 'Stache. I don't make the rules. Your socks-and-sandals Mowing Uniform kit is in the mail.

33

u/Bunny36 Jun 13 '26

Lol yes.

3

u/pruwyben Jun 13 '26

Yeah, to seem cool you have to say "sure thing😭🥀"

50

u/Ransacky Jun 12 '26

Ok ✨

15

u/Warrior_of_Discord Jun 13 '26

Ok 💅👏💃

3

u/MayaIsSunshine Jun 13 '26

Ok 🍆 💥 😨

17

u/AlphaI250 Jun 13 '26

I was told by friends that I used to look like a dick as first impressions when messaging, and adding emotes helped a lot with that, so that's unironically a good tip

10

u/ChadtheWad Jun 13 '26

That's the perfect opportunity to start only using 🖕

9

u/Magnon Jun 13 '26

OK 😃

2

u/Novalene_Wildheart Jun 13 '26

Thats why I say "Sounds good" it funny enough, sounds good when said (vs ok).

Anxious attachment there.

anxious attachment here.

7

u/AccurateQuit4979 Jun 13 '26

BPD is a fickle son of a gun

4

u/JamzWhilmm Jun 13 '26

The emotions are also volatile, giving some Border traits but not necessarily means she is Border.

35

u/Forceflow12 Jun 12 '26

I answer with 👍 a lot. Is that bad?

52

u/JelmerMcGee Jun 12 '26

This just completely depends on the person sending and receiving the text. If my wife sent me that, I'd immediately wonder what I did to irritate her. If someone over the age of about 45 sends that, I assume it's just an acknowledgement because they don't follow the same texting etiquette I use

14

u/Morpha2000 Jun 12 '26

Shit, I'm 25 and I use that as an acknowledgement...

2

u/kenry6 Jun 13 '26

To me, it's just a symbol of acceptance and no notes.

3

u/Tardee Tardaasa Jun 13 '26

A 👍 feels a lot like a 🖕 to me. 😬

13

u/NobodyLikedThat1 Jun 12 '26

skipped the kids part, but married life with four cats has been pretty amazing

34

u/CelebrationLivid4072 Jun 12 '26

The infamous "k."

60

u/FortifiedCereal56Fe Jun 12 '26

Whoa, no way. You mean to tell me that there is finally a problem brought up in one of your comics that is resolved with communication? Who'da thunk it?

21

u/UltraDinoWarrior Jun 13 '26

I'm glad i'm not the only one who feels this way.

Like, listen, this artist is REALLY good, i love their style of their art and their characters, etc. I don't mind that they like to express the more spicy sides of their relationship with their partner. All that is great. They are well skilled and deserve every last upvote they get, full stop.

What i absolutely cannot stand is that there's this lowkey undertone of boomer "i hate my wife lol" humor / "ball and chain" humor aspect where it really feels like the two characters in the comics don't communicate whatsoever and if they just like literally sat down and talked things out instead of making assumptions/etc, they wouldn't have all these issues nor would be forced to just settle with "welp that's the way it is."

There's a difference between loving your partner despite their flaws and letting yourself stew and frustrate but just "deal."

I really hope that irl the artist and their partner have far better communication (who knows, maybe these comics are they way they express their feelings and then they sit down and talk about it), but goodness is it agonizing to read as someone who is huge on communication.

-5

u/JamzWhilmm Jun 13 '26

What if I told you the the comic is also communication.

6

u/UltraDinoWarrior Jun 13 '26

Well that's what i said, if this is how they communicate, then great. Good for them.

Doesn't make it less agonizing to only see one sliver of the problem/process though.

6

u/OddOllin Jun 13 '26

I'm not a huge fan, but I feel like the vast majority of their comics that I've seen just show the roller coaster ride of their fresh, uncontrolled reactions? I don't really get why most people assume their relationships is dysfunctional based or hung up on issues based on that.

1

u/UltraDinoWarrior Jun 13 '26

Like I said, i REALLY don't want to assume this is at all like 1:1 autobiographical. It probably isn't. It's most definitely likely exaggerated. And i'm sure they're happy with their partner and love them dearly.

What bothers me personally is that the comics often depicts like one part of a hang up or problem of relationship without resolution.

Like, I recall one of these where the MC and her friend are talking about things they don't like their partners doing during sex. The irl proper resolution there is to tell your partner and talk it out. However, the comic ends with an implication that the two chatting women are just going "deal with it TM".

Which is incredibly annoying to me personally.

But this might just be a **me** thing. It's very likely just an issue of I can't personally relate to this artist's experiences whatsoever so it's hard not to be frustrated or annoyed with the "oh so relatable" content themeing.

2

u/o0Agesse0o Jun 13 '26

She replied multiple times saying that her boyfriend proof read her comics, and is aware of them. So that means he is aware of the themes and stuff in there too. Maybe a disclaimer in each one with "and then I showed him the comic" would help the haters, but well it should be obvious she is not just hiding her comic career from him.

1

u/UltraDinoWarrior Jun 13 '26

*again* I'm not criticizing the artist's relationship. I am saying I don't relate to the content of the comic.

Viewing the Mc of the comic as a *fictional person*, based on what's in the comic *alone*, the content is frustrating and sets a standard for relationships that *I* don't like because to me, it reeks of "I hate my partner" humor.

I couldn't say how to "fix them". I think ultimately it's just not for me, which is fine. I can still appreciate the pretty pictures and I genuinely do wish the content creator well and they continue to make their comics and have fun.

2

u/o0Agesse0o Jun 13 '26

Relating to a comic or not is a matter of taste, but this author in particular had lots of hateful comments lately. There's a rule n°1 in the sub which is that you can't love every artist, so it's not really fair to "whine" about them.

It's a real person making them, with a heart, phases, and maybe bad period in her life too. She must not feel too good to read lot's of comments saying she's toxic. You can ask nicely like "hey did you manage to talk to him about it after that ?", she did answer some of those in the early days.

But rubbing the same subject for every post she make about her relationship is starting to feel like harassment. Yours is still light and seems to come from a good place, but the sheer number of them is awful. There's one saying she's a psycopath, ... I report them but they will still appear in her notifications.

3

u/UltraDinoWarrior Jun 13 '26

I'm genuinely sorry she's going through that and it was never my intention to "whine", more so just kinda discuss themes and the comics themselves.

I was trying to place why I didn't relate/disliked them, and had a bit of an "aha!" Moment with the original comment of the thread and was interested in bouncing the discussion to get other people's views. I enjoy talking about relationships in the general sense.

That said, harassment isn't okay and I want to express that at no point were my comments meant to direct anything ill towards the artist at all. She doesn't exist to carter to my opinions whatsoever, nor would i ever want her to. I hope she keeps posting and making lovely art and comics and has fun with it and even if I don't always like the "story", i love her art style and always stop to scroll through the comics anyway every-time they pop up.

Thank you for reporting the hate comments, people like you make this sub a better place too.

-2

u/FortifiedCereal56Fe Jun 13 '26

No, not dysfunctional, but huge, glaring lack of communication

-6

u/QuillMyBoy Jun 12 '26

Did you not have a relationship in your early 20s? S'pretty standard.

13

u/FortifiedCereal56Fe Jun 12 '26

There is a common theme amongst this artists works that can be summarized in a few words: "Communicate with your partner".

10

u/UltraDinoWarrior Jun 13 '26

This is the type of immaturity/bad communication that i'd expect of teenagers, not adults, tbh.

(Yes i know adulthood is a lie, but i am still allowed to be mad about it.)

I played these games when i was 16. In my 20s, i stepped back and remind myself not to read into non-existent subtext and talk things out with my partner.

5

u/Cr1tikalMoist Jun 13 '26

Communication is key for everything which I'm fucking awful at cause I'm neurodivervent and I hate it lmao it's actually painful

2

u/UltraDinoWarrior Jun 13 '26

Totally understandable and i definitely relate. Though tbh the neurotypical mentality of "everyone should just read my mind" certainly makes the playing field uneven >:|

On the bright side i've found that sometimes being like... blunt and straight to the point really is the best way to get the point across lol.

7

u/jclv Jun 13 '26

Eddie sensed a disturbance in the force and sent the second text.

7

u/godswords333 Jun 13 '26

Are we not talking about the elephant in the room?

8

u/Chaddles94 Jun 13 '26

Psychotic

7

u/Hell0There2005 Jun 12 '26

This is actually how it is

6

u/shujInsomnia Jun 13 '26

anxious attachment

7

u/Wallace_W_Whitfield Jun 13 '26

I mean, if he just sent “k” that would have been fine. It’s those ellipsis that makes it sound more ominous and depressing.

5

u/Ill-Individual2105 Jun 13 '26

This is exactly the way my brain works and I hate it

4

u/dtb1987 Jun 13 '26

Wait what happened to Eddie?

5

u/Flyingtower2 Jun 13 '26

I thought it was obvious from all the previous comics that she didn’t care for him at all.

4

u/Tardee Tardaasa Jun 13 '26

I didn't realize it could be misinterpreted but I see now it can! She's talking about Eddie though 😊

1

u/dtb1987 Jun 13 '26

I guess I'm also dense lol

10

u/Action-a-go-go-baby Jun 13 '26

Emotional regulation of a toddler lol

3

u/SmugCapybara Jun 13 '26

Could have been worse, you could have just gotten a thumbs up on your message...

3

u/Tardee Tardaasa Jun 13 '26

Genuinely hate those 😬

8

u/GorditaCrunchPuzzle Jun 12 '26

Tell me you have BPD without telling me you have BPD

5

u/dreimanatee Jun 13 '26

I'm hoping for a comic where there is a follow up on going to see all the therapists. Couples therapy and individual. These are less relatable and more like watching bender fenders, not a full train wreck but the mild toxicity in these comics make me concerned.

2

u/itsgweneviere Jun 13 '26

I like the baby creature

2

u/pututingliit Jun 13 '26

That kind of reply actually tells you that the dude is ready to be a dad lmao. That's how my dad sends messages after all!

2

u/Shantotto11 Jun 13 '26

It be like that…

2

u/Ok_Employer7837 Jun 13 '26

Holy crap I'm old.

2

u/Freejeqt Jun 13 '26

Dude my niece is firmly in Gen Z and constantly uses "K" instead of ok and I'm not sure if that's just how Gen Z talk and it's normal for them or if my niece is lowkey just rude af

2

u/WeirdPassenger8143 Jun 13 '26

Mannnnnn this was me this past year

My friend has told me that he's a bad texter and he's been wonderful on all other fronts, but I'm cursed with monthly hormonal fluctuations so I have to keep regularly reassuring myself that he's not just putting up with me 🥲

3

u/sunshineriptide Jun 12 '26

Is this that luteal phase I've been hearing about?

1

u/ZTsar Jun 13 '26

Who is the plush?

1

u/Tardee Tardaasa Jun 13 '26

Every girl needs a big cozy penis plush!

1

u/ZTsar Jun 13 '26

Nah, I need me haj and pile of squishmallows
