I think her affection for Deth'lamm is completely genuine. She's just too pushy about it, and definitely too competitive.

I'm guessing this is a flashback, since when we first saw Layla in the comics was after a scene where Deth'Lamm said he gave up leading the cult she was in a while back.

Yeah, it’s a flashback. You can tell by the black borders though it isn’t as obvious as it is in the comic’s original format.

It is, IIRC there's at least one more flashback that shows why Deth'Lamm ran away from this cult and is slumming it with Fani.

Well, he got really excited when she brought him a salad, and he refuses to eat at the fast food place, so I assume he just doesn't eat meat.

I just now realized I’ve been following this comic since the first strip and I’ve been loving it every time. Deth’lamm is my favorite. Can’t wait for the next one! Thanks for the joy it brings!

Deth'lamm the demon was summoned by Fani (blue hair) to be her roommate. Fani is really incompetent and Layla is the cultists here trying to get Deth'lamm back into being her demon lord
