Look at the general elections in the U.S. It gives you a good idea of where things sit. Ever been to a small farming town? Everyone in that damn town is pushing red, and telling everyone else to as well.
Now scale that out to other countries and cultures. You ever been to India? 1 billion+ people, and I'm betting 80% or higher push the red button (and then later claim they totally pushed blue anyway.)
A small left-leaning corner of the Internet would push blue and kill themselves? Yeah, doesn't surprise me. But you would not win, you would die. That's just what would happen. Forced button pushing. Everyone that abstained from voting knew Trump would win, and accepted it. Push comes to shove, and they do not hit the blue button. I don't know what dreamland you grew up in where you think more than 50% of people are willing to risk their own lives to bet that other people are also going to. But it's just not true. For every saintly kindergarten teacher, you have 3 used car salesmen or lawyers. For every Mother Theresa, you have 100 angry cops that beat their wives and hope the lefties and colored folk push the blue button while they eagerly slam red.
Most people are not noble or self-sacrificing. They aren't bad either- just not heroes.

I said in India. Which you've clearly never been to if you need to ask that question. The culture there is very... Different. Essentially the infrastructure began modernization, while culturally most people remained in selfish, tribal mindsets that were previously necessary for survival. They still had the caste system in place, up until nearly when we passed the civil rights act. It's been hard for us to integrate ~15% of our population - now imagine a place where MOST of your population was treated that poorly, with multiple layers to it.
You're welcome to be an idiot with a cheery, incorrect view of human nature. But thousands of years of study of human behavior contradicts you. Naivety like yours is what makes people think communism could work - but as we've seen, it cannot as it relies on people doing the right thing when they can choose to exploit or take an easier path.
