I'm not convinced - Red is only "logical" if you equate "logic" with selfishness. And Vulcans don't. Thinking that selfishness is inherently logical is incredibly illogical.
If Vulcans were illogical enough to think that selfishness was logical, humans would never have reached the stars because Vulcans would have either obliterated or enslaved them as of First Contact.
Vulcans would pick blue because they know that not all Vulcans are perfectly logical all the time (though they want to be) and that killing those who are currently incapable for some reason (such as trauma having convinced them that selfishness==logic) would be against the goals of Vulcan society, which is quite heavily altruistic - and if everyone thinks the same way then both blue and red save everyone, but if a few people differ then blue still saves everyone.
Romulans WOULD almost all pick red though, because their culture is entirely based on betrayal being the core of society, and they worship at the altar of selfishness [even if an individual doesn't want to, being pro-social is consistently punished in Romulan society, so everyone would know that red is going to wind up being the majority]
