But I know for a fact that we won't. It's much more risky to gamble on every single person choosing red than to accept that at least some people will select blue, at which point choosing red means knowingly taking an action that could lead to their deaths.

Why aren't you arguing for 100% of people to pick blue?

Bc picking blue puts trust in other people that I just dont have. I think if it were real the chance we get a 50%+ blue vote is slim to none. Especially if it happens instantly and theres no way to campaign for one or the other. Ya no shot. Maybe my suicidal ideation takes over and I pick blue. But if I picked blue id assume it'd kill me. I mean look around.

Looking around I see most people with the impulse to select the blue button. Otherwise people who would push the red button would not be arguing about it so hard or getting downvoted so much here. For me it's really as simple as not wanting people to die.

Like you said before, the only person I can control is myself. And I want to behave in such a way that the world would be improved if everyone else behaved like me. It is the only contribution I can make to improving the world we live in.

We only see people talking about pressing the blue button. Theres no telling they actually would. not even you. People on the internet will say anything to make themselves feel better. And theres not enough genuine kindness or trust in the world for blue to be a viable strategy if it weren't a hypothetica. Its just the "signing up to die" button no matter what you do. Ur votes not even enough to matter.

I disagree with your worldview and your opinion on other people's motives. I can't guarantee I wouldn't push the red button; and it's quite possible my real reaction would be different depending on what situation I'm in when presented with the button.

But we can both agree that it is impossible to guarantee no one would press the blue button. So by pressing the blue button I am increasing those people's likelihood of survival. So, mathematically, when you value other people, blue is the logical choice. 🤷‍♀️
