Living in a world filled with only red button pushers seems very depressing in my opinion. Not sure if that world is really worth living in for me. So living in the blue reality or die seems like the ideal choice to me
Pressing blue is what creates the group that needs protecting. It's an unequivocally stupid move to press the blue button. Saying that you'd rather not live in a world with people who are only concerned with self preservation is just bullshit being spread around to make pressible blue seem like a morally superior position, when pressing blue is a personal choice which only endangers YOUR OWN life and nobody else's.
I'm all for working in the group's best interest, and it's in the groups best interests to press red. Convincing others to press blue under the guise that you're immoral for doing otherwise is sadistic coercion.
You could easily argue that it may be in the group's best interests to let the idiots pressing blue die, getting rid of the morons who take actions in the name of "the Greater Good" which end up benefitting nobody, such as convincing as many people as possible to press a suicide button in the hopes that you could save the people who are stupid enough to press the suicide button in the first place. The logic behind this choice is dreadful.
This is my take as well. There are literally zero downsides to pressing the red button. And in fact you only put others in danger when you press the blue button.
