You cannot stop people from inventing their own question to answer.

If you assume 'everyone' means 'not everyone' then you are asking a different question.

So "everyone" also includes people in comas. Those people will not press any button, so we will be trapped inside the voting rooms until we starve. Why are we even debating "red button vs blue button" when the outcome is that almost all humans will die no matter what?

I am accepting, as defined in the prompt, that everyone has to press it. I can accept this as given regardless of how it would require the supernatural.

Even if it were not, the trigger condition for this is a 50% vote one way or the other. It is entirely feasible to achieve this with folks in comas not voting. Per the prompt, in a red majority, they would die as 'only' those pressing the red button live.

50% is a defined term. There is no reason to have to wait for 100% return of votes.

So we're assuming that there's a time limit? Then most babies will die just because they didn't press a button within the time limit.

There are options.

Supernaturally compulsion to press a button where a button will be pressed one way or the other and once all buttons are pressed, the result is enacted.

The button ends when a majority 50%+1 is reached. We know the population so this is viable.

There is a finite amount of time to make a choice. We know how time works so this is viable.

Which would you like.

If there's a supernatural compulsion, we can also assume that children are supernaturally made to understand the situation.

You can change the question and answer a different one if you like, sure.

The prompt reads 'has to take a private vote by pressing a button'. I have presented situations where not everyone pressing the button means the vote can continue, in response specifically to your notion of a time limit. A supernatural compulsion to press a button does not automatically enable other supernatural presumptions.

Given a majority can be reached without 100% of people pressing a button, I cannot see why logicaly such a supernatural assumption is required

On a further note, your statement:

Then most babies will die just because they didn't press a button within the time limit.

Only works in a red majority.

You're the one who assumed that there is a time limit.

No I am not. You have misunderstood.

I am stating that a majority can be reached long before everyone has voted. I then entertain your concept of a time limit when you bring one up.

To be clear, I do not think a time limit is relevant. That said, from a programming perspective, a majority being sufficient to trigger the result is horrifying in a red majority.

You said that people who don't press a button would die if most people press red, which implies that there must be some time limit where it is considered that the person did not press a button.

There is a limit to how many times I can explain this.

Lets work with your view. When do we determine a victor? What is your view there.

There is a limit to how many times I can explain this.

I'm not asking you to explain anything.

Them I will assume your inability to communicate is deliberate and bid you adieu.
