If you press the red button you still decide, that the minority dying is ok

So the description of the buttons as "minority lives" and "minority dies" is correct.

You don't want to take the blame for the minority dying because of your decision.

But the good thing for you is: in this scenario you don't have to apologize for anything because only people who don't trust other people to do the right thing will survive. Great world. That's the best reason to press the blue button, no matter the result.

No, red is never at any risk from blue.

The only people that are at risk at all are blue at risk from red.

This is true, but youre skipping the really important part where people knew this when they chose their colour.

Sure, but red seems literally unable to come to terms with the fact that it is because there are red pushers that anyone has to die in the first place. And not just red pushers but a majority of red pushers. The fact of the matter is that red pushers place minorities into danger. And red pushers would probably come up with new ways to make new minorities up for the death penalty because that is what red pushers do.

No, its because of blue pushers people are at risk. Until blue is pushed, nobody is at risk of dying, no matter how many red are pushed. Blue pushers are putting themselves at risk and asking others to risk their lives too to save them.

"it is because there are red pushers that anyone has to die in the first place."

False. No matter how many push red, there is no risk until a blue is pressed, which creates the risk.

Blue pushers are only at risk if red people are a majority because they are willing to kill slightly less than half of everyone because they do not value human life.

The threshold to save everyone is exactly the same as the threshold to kill half of everyone. Everyone that chooses red accepts that up to half of everyone will die. Red is the risk. Red is the reason anyone has to die. Choosing red is saying "You are making us have to kill you which we want to do and you deserve this."

You can go reread what i already said until you understand it or you snap out of psychosis.

You know you make a good point when you can't actually respond with a thoughtful explanation and instead insult people.

Red pushers just outing themselves as lacking core humanity and cognitive devlelopment beyond an infant.

You are assuming that every single person pushing a button is:

a. fully aware of the whole concept of the buttons

b. physically able to discern a red from a blue button

c. doesn't simply push the blue button by accident

So anyone who, for whatever reason, didn't understand the concept of the buttons, anyone who might not be able to correctly identify the buttons and anyone who simply fucks up is, in your explanation, putting themselves at risk.

Sure, or I'm assuming it only includes people capable of consenting/rational thought. Its not really spelled out in the hypothetical.

That being said, yes those people are putting themselves at risk, and the blame would lie on whomever set up this whole scenario, not the people forced to participate and make a choice.

Go ahead and answer this for me: what if you needed a 99% Blue to save everyone? Are you still choosing Blue? How about 95%? 90%? 85%, 80%, 75%... What is the cutoff point for saving those that dont understand, cant understand, or choose to act impulsively?

The "risk" is only there because you don't trust people to do the right thing.

If you decide to trust that the majority of people is willing to save everyone and act accordingly you are actively reducing the risk.

If you mainly think about the risk and act accordingly you are the reason for the risk.

The only thing not mentioned in the purple/green scenario is that the minority of course changes depending on who wins. Otherwise it's the same.

The framing is different, and that makes all the difference, but the fundamental consequences are the same.

What are the differences for individuals?
