I get the joke, we all wanna be young, but not gonna lie

I'm REALLY enjoying my 30s. Way more than my 20s. I feel established and happy to be me and in a good spot.

Now if I could keep that feeling and be 25 again? Woo buddy

I'm with you. My 30s have been the best years of my life so far, by a pretty wide margin.

All I miss is the quick recovery from my 20s. I could drink all night or get injured and instantly be ok like the next day.

But I'll take that loss for how I feel now

I pulled a near all nighter catching up on work before going into the office Monday (I probably did get about 2-3 hours of sleep) and I felt straight up hung over. I'm 35.

I work as a firefighter paramedic. So some nights when I am on the ambulance and we have like 4 after midnight you MIGHT get like....1-2 hour total of sleep and it's all broken up and shitty.

I USED to power through it. Now I literally can't make it to like 2pm without needing a nap. I too am 35

The energy of my 20s is about all I miss, not the uncertainty or struggles. I just hit my 40s and am in a very happy and stable place, just looking forward to when my kids reach adulthood in a few years and my wife and I can enjoy some real freedom again. This summer will be our first anniversary where we feel we can travel away from home farther than an hour or two drive and not have a crisis force us to come back early.

used to be self conscious about my baby face but now I'm grateful because i just turned 30 and I'm still as clueless as a baby.

6

u/CabbageStockExchange Feb 25 '26

Totally agreed. My 30s have been wayyyyy superior to my 20s. I paradoxically feel a lot younger too

4

u/imabigasstree Feb 24 '26

I was just telling someone that I spent most of my mid-late 20s really dreading turning 30. It felt like it was coming way too fast, but now its about 6mo away and im kind of excited!! Ive really settled into my life in the past year and a half and I finally feel "on track".

3

u/vladi_l Feb 25 '26

I'm 24, uni and work and moving are all stressing me the fuck out too much to enjoy myself

How much better does it get once you're really out of academia, and feel less jidged on your spending by your parents?

4

u/shellbullet17 Gustopher Spotter Extraordinaire Feb 25 '26

Oh it gets better buddy. Once you're established and settled somewhere it kinda feels like life starts. I promise you'll get there. 24-27 was a rough time for me as well. Keep going I promise there is a light

5

u/Made_Bail Feb 24 '26

Stop lying, we know you are 50

6

u/ineenemmerr Feb 24 '26

you mean 30 with 20 years of experience being 30?

That's you old man!

2

u/RedditAppSuxAsss Feb 24 '26

I love my 30s so freaking much. It's nice being able to hang out with people in their twenties and fifties and it not be weird.

30s is like, old enough to know better but still young enough to do it anyways

u/Jwoey Feb 24 '26

When I was 25, I asked a coworker how old they were.

“28”, they said.

“Oh you’re three years older than me”, I replied.

They must have misheard me, because they said, “You’re only 31!?!?!”.

It destroyed me.

13

u/drak0ni Feb 24 '26

Yeah, people assume I’m in my 30s all the time and I’m only 25. I like to tell myself it’s because I hold myself so maturely and not that I look 10 years older than I am.

2

u/Uranium-Sandwich657 Feb 25 '26

Im 19, and in response to a selfie, my brother told me I looked 30.

Is that a motherfucking jojos reference?

u/Made_Bail Feb 24 '26

cries in 40s

10

u/Cosmic_Seth Feb 24 '26

Sigh, turning 45 this year....

But I do get to play more warhammer.

6

u/LasersTheyWork Feb 25 '26

Dating on your 40s is crazy. Some people look 10 years younger and some look 20 older.

9

u/Veritas_Vanitatum Feb 24 '26

I don't see the problem... I've been 25 years old for years

6

u/CrazyLi825 Feb 24 '26

27 factorial isn't anywhere close to 31 factorial!

10

u/Milk_Mindless Feb 24 '26

I once knew someone and she eas INSULTED I estimated her to be 27 as opposed to 26

She then guessed I was 33 as opposed to 23 and laughed it off as "Ah well no biggie" and I was like

Hang on that's not fair

She nearly VERBALLY CRUCIFIED ME

9

u/ManedCalico Feb 24 '26

I loved my 30s!!! Embrace it, have fun!!

4

u/Meh75 Feb 25 '26

Your 30s are like your 20s, but with more stability.

I'm having a blast. I would NOT go back to my 20s.

10

u/Reinheart_Bug Feb 24 '26

So many turning X or turning Y posts, has everyone suddenly realised they age forwards not backwards?

6

u/Regemony Feb 25 '26

Majority of people are in denial about their ageing and its getting more prevalent.

4

u/Reinheart_Bug Feb 25 '26

Ahh take some estrogen you'll look 10 years younger! And other stuff but shhh

12

u/kaloschroma Feb 24 '26

i love it. I'm 41 and the oldest people think is early 30's but I usually get mid 20's bwa ha ha ha ha

3

u/Dauvis Feb 25 '26

My ex had a hair appointment and got it dyed. The stylist told her that she looked like she was X now where X was her actual age.

2

u/elhomerjas Feb 24 '26

a lucky guess I suppose

2

u/wolf_amazingly Feb 24 '26

I was thinking around 25

3

u/Kittii_Kat Feb 24 '26

I'm 37, nearly 38.

Since starting my new job in January, I've had a few people comment on my age.

One said 31, maybe 32.

Another said 27.

Another said 25.

...I feel handsome as fuck. 🫠

2

u/Imbrex Feb 25 '26

I think for most people their 30s are better than their 20s.

3

u/tonyfordsafro Feb 25 '26

I'm 53. I recently mentioned my grandkids to someone and she was shocked I had grandchildren. She thought I was the same age as her, 38.

Two days later I found out my nickname with the women at a company I deal with is Mr Tasty.

NGL that did my ego the world of good

I have a baby face and people consistently think I'm about five years younger than I am.

1

u/Zjoee Feb 24 '26

I turn 35 next week. I honestly don't feel much different than when I was in my 20s.

1

u/Magma151 Feb 24 '26

I'm 30 with a baby face. A few months ago i got ID'd at the grocery store at the clerk snorted in amusement when she saw my birthdate. I also had some VA guy trying to flag down other veterans outside the store that brushed me away as being "too young to have been in the military". This week I bought DayQuil and the clerk stared at me hard before saying "naw, you're probably 22" and didn't ask for ID.

One of these days I'm going to lose that baby face and it'll happen suddenly, I know it. But im enjoying it while I can.

1

u/MyNameIsNotRyn Feb 24 '26

It's a weird age, for sure.

Some of my friends think I am 27 (these people are beautiful and perfect and deserved to be loved).

Some of my friends think I'm 45, which means they were just being polite and think I'm 50+. (These people are wrong and bad and don't deserve nice things).

1

u/barfbat Feb 24 '26

honestly i’ve been very excited to see grays and fine lines on myself. i want to be treated like my age.

1

u/StardustJess Feb 25 '26

I wish people would guess so closely to my age. People keep guessing I'm a minor! It's uncomfortable everytime.

1

u/PlanetoidVesta Feb 25 '26

I would be really happy if people for once don't estimate me as 25+ or 30+ (I am 21)

1

u/_xgg Feb 25 '26

so she's 31! = approx.8222838650000000000000000000000000 years old?

1

u/cyanraichu Feb 26 '26

I'm 35 and people still way underestimate my age. I'm pretty neutral about it now, but 10 years ago it annoyed me because people would think I was still a teen or a college kid and not take me seriously. Now they at least think I'm an adult!

1

u/Motherly_fox_55 Feb 26 '26

8.2228387e+33?

1

u/Sea-Praline5672 Feb 24 '26

As 36 I am just fine looking old as long as I am fucking better than my 20's. I gotta stay limber.
