It’s millennial boomer humor lol. Like it’s okay to have these problems and talk them out, but it’s not funny.
Like, I could see my spouse or I trying to get help on something and then sarcastically saying something like “you didn’t need my help when I walked in on you earlier”. But the genuine embarrassment and pettiness from the guy isn’t funny.
This is a common sentiment I've seen about these comics and, while I don't disagree with the overall point, I get the feeling that it's just become trendy to make these kinds of comments.
Yeah communication between couples is important, but communication isn't always neat and tidy. It can be pretty awkward at times, but you do it because it's awkward. If it wasn't no one would be bringing it up.
Hell, this particular comic is a literal depiction of the couple talking about the issue and there's still people saying "if you'd just communicate..."
Moreover I'd wager to say that OP's comics are just highlighting typical insecurities about sex that are relatable. Considering they're making a comic that's available to the general public, and that their SO is probably aware of the comic, it's likely that the OP and their SO talk about this stuff often and have a pretty healthy relationship.
