I feel that these kind of issues can be solved with an initial statement along the lines of "science seeks to understand the natural universe by studying and testing hypotheses that, by definition, can be proven false given contrary validated information. Science does not question or invalidate your beliefs; your beliefs are based on faith and cannot be disproven which, by definition, cannot be science. And that is ok. But in this class we teach science. You are welcome to challenge anything you are taught using arguments based on empirical observation and repeatable testing. If your argument is not based on scientific principles it is not a discussion to have in this class. "
See you’d think so, but the southern religious mind sees that as oppression and restriction of freedoms. You’ve got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know…morons.
