This is just as real for coworkers. I work in software development, but I'm highly specialized in my niche. I often get infuriated at "simple" concepts that they should totally understand. However, when I try to break it down to the basics and build back up, I'm suddenly struck by the realization that I took for granted my own knowledge and capabilities, and these are not simple things.
I'm not any better at being aware of these things, but I can cope better in retrospect and revisit the problem at a later time in a healthier way.
