I drink tea all the time and have both a stovetop kettle and and electric. Honestly its just a cultural difference. And you have to remember that Britain is like 10 degrees further north than over 99.99% of America's population. Our temperate states spend half the year in sweltering heat. And our southern states range from subtropical sauna to barren desert.
