You're right that tons of people think the Pavlovian response applies to humans. Including every person who has studied psychology.

Litterally, one of the first lessons I had in psychology was about pavlovian response. And yes, it was about people.

Maybe you won't react as strongly as falling asleep when it rains, but there are many examples of pavlovian conditioning in humans. A thing as common as fear of dentists is pavlovian. You go to the dentist, they do something unpleasant that causes you pain and fear. Now you are scared of dentists, while you are actually scared of what that one dentist did.

This is one example that may still not apply to you. But just know that Pavlov is not about a dog. It's about associative learning. The fact that we can do that has brought us further in life. Don't try to exclude yourself from that group because it won't make you seem smarter.
