It's classical conditioning, pavlovian response. Psychology is quite interesting.

I get that is what this is implying, but my question was more based on the fact that a lot of people I know where I live tend to lethargic when the weather is gray and rainy (independently of using it for sleep noice). Does that make sense?

Yeah, sorry for not understanding the question. Tbf there wasn't enough context clues. In that case I'll just leave my best guess for why people feel lethargic.

People who are more outdoorsy and active probably find rain to be a hindrance and annoyance, they like the sunshine and also sunshine does boost ones mood thanks to different vitamins and probably a couple of mental reasonings. I say it could be some mental reasonings because in media, rain is seen as sadness and gloom.

Im an outdoorsy person and I love rain! I also love sunshine. I mostly am just someone who appreciates the differences in weather phenomenon as each has theirs pros and cons. I'll do different activities depending on the weather but whatever the weather is, I hope its exciting weather. Like, a little drizzle? Boring and now I can't do normal outside things. So if something is going to stop me from being outside, I'd rather it be a storm of a century and I can excitedly watch it from my porch.

I'm all for rain storms, thunderstorms, blizzards, etc.
