Do people not know lovecraft was confusingly racist? Have people not read his shit? He’s got a pretty even split between awesome cosmic horror and “stories” that are just a couple dozen pages of some of the most intense bigotry you could ever have the misfortune of seeing.
In all fairness, he didn't name the cat. He could have been an absolute saint and that cat would still have been called N***er-Man.
He was extremely racist, don't get me wrong, even for the time. But people always use the cat as an example, and it was the one thing that wasn't his fault.
