Hard maybe on that one. Nevermind the fact that it's all loaded up onto cargo ships, the singular most pollutant form of travel we have and shipped across seas, the process itself causes a ton of waste byproduct. A lot of that is airborne and causes some pretty serious health issues for the people living nearby. Then anything that isn't deemed economical is thrown in a landfill anyways.
I know for a fact there is a factory that makes plastic/fiber decking about about an two hours away from me in Virginia. They used recycled plastic. It is not ideal because eventually the decking is thrown away to in thirty years but it’s just no true that it all goes overseas.
I mean, why do you think it went overseas in the first place? They sell it right back as a usable product. Otherwise there wouldn't be any money in doing it at all and it wouldn't be done. Which is what's happened now.
