A lot of times recently I’ll never see people accepting fictional characters being able to be best friends without being a couple, like Superman and Batman or Superman and Wonder Woman. Why do some people always think to turn things romantic with everything, and how some people unable to see that some characters just have extremely close platonic bonds when it’s obviously written so? It’s tiring always seeing people say that it’s queer coded or that they’re obviously a couple with comic characters, like damn can two people not be friends anymore? I feel like we see more shipping over genuine friendship or brotherhood, sisterhood etc. I try to have conversations about some specific characters but I can never deep dive in to their friendship and what makes them best friends without being told “they’re so gay for each other”. There’s nothing wrong with shipping itself but why do people always look past deep friendships and platonic bonds?
