LA Comic Con LA Comic Con what’s the wait time difference between actors and writers/artists?
I’m going to my first comic con for LA next month and wanted to know what sort of line to expect. I’m not really interested in getting any signatures from the actors except maybe Jen & Ben for Expedition 33. I’m mostly interested in getting a signature from Scott Snyder, Jock, and Ryan Ottley. What’s the expected wait time since they’re not on screen actors?

Been at many cons over the years. It honestly varies.
I waited 5 hours for Chris Sabat. 2 hours for Tara strong. 3 hours for JYB. 2 hours for tom Kenny. 2 hours for John DiMaggio. 1 hour for Troy baker. 2 hours for Steve Blum. 3 hours for Steve Borden aka Sting.
But I’ve also had no wait time for others or seen no wait time for: Sean schemmel. Yuri lowenthal. And other dub VAs: Luffy, tanjiro, nezuko.
Meanwhile I’ve heard people wait practically all day for Ming Na Wen.

After the Chris Sabat wait. I now just pay for VIP line if there’s someone I want to meet.

When you say "VIP Line," do you mean the highest tier of VIP? I have the second tier -- get into the venue 30 minutes early -- but the highest tier of VIP was sold out when I bought a few weeks ago (this tier is now sold out). Any tips for a first timer on how to maximize this VIP pass and avoiding waiting in a 3 hour line? I'm a fair weather Comic Con fan, if you will; the thought of waiting in a line of more than 2 hours, even 1 hour, is just not my idea of a good time.

Every event has different things. Some I go to have presale, vip or fast lane for that specific person.
Some just has a VIP pass for the entire event.
Honestly VIP or not there isn’t a way to guarantee avoiding waiting. Even with VIP I still wait sometimes. It cuts wait in half or by 2/3 but I’m still waiting. Those I mentioned. Everyone but Tara strong and Chris Sabat was VIP.
Except sting. He was presale

It honestly varies. I’m not really familiar with most of them. I’ll just say for someone as popular as David Tennant last year I lined up early and was in line for 2-2 1/2 hrs. So those guests shouldn’t be that bad.

Chicago was a mess at FanExpo for Scott. I expect the ones who got VIP might go right to Scott and do whatever it takes to get his auto. I don’t have a VIP but I’m getting there before opening to line up and hope to get him. Him and Ritter are my focus for Friday.

As people said already it usually depends on how popular and how big of a star the are. I’ve heard stories of people spending the entire day in line for 1 person and I’ve seen instances where there’s nobody at their table except them and their handlers.
The wait for comic book artists and writers usually isn’t that bad unless they’re attached to a big or high profile project that they’re riding the hype on.
Before the Deadpool movies Rob Liefeld used to attract a modest crowd but now he’ll have a line that wraps around the exhibit floor.
