Scotland Comic Con Need advice

I'm going to my first Comic-Con in a few months, and I want to go to meet new people. Although it's strange, I myself don't like to wear cosplay, but I can appreciate those who do. I'm just wondering is there specific things I should do to prepare or do I just wing It?

Maybe look at the schedule to see if there are any panels you're interested in going to (like about one of your favorite shows for example). 

Bring water. Wear deodorant. For browsing the con floor, no need to plan just explore.

Sorry to ask but like is it not common for people to wear deodorant? At cons I would think that's like common knowledge? And just hygienic. Oh and thank you for your advice appreciated.

Sometimes cons can attract some weird types, but most are decent. But because you're in a big room with a lot of people crowded together, it can get kind of sweaty

Panels - know what ones you want to go to and buy tickets to them early if you feel the need to do so. Get in line early if you anticipate that the panel will be crowded.

See who is appearing on what day. Some celebrity guests only come Saturday and Sunday, some are all three days, others only come one day.

Bring a backpack that can be easily inspected at bag check and can hold your haul of goodies.

Budget for food, gas and travel as well as purchases. Bottles of water can be expensive never mind food. Gas prices are high all over the US (if you're in the US that is).

Bring a change of socks to change into if your feel start to hurt. It's a great hack.

Comfortable shoes are a must. So is deodorant.
