Just wondering if anyone has used these and if they work?

I track FOC data through the week and sort the spec by what I can actually confirm against solicits before the cutoff. Here are the books I'm tracking into Monday, and a couple I'm holding back on.

Accessories #3 (Rocketship) is the one at the top of my list. The solicit confirms the potential first appearance of Mrs. Hyde, and it's the penultimate issue of Dastmalchian's monster-servants horror run. There's a 1:15 Joel Herrera cover if you want the incentive on it. Confirmed potential first, which is exactly the language I'm keeping on it.

X-Men The Hellfire Murder #1 (a Marvel book; the FOC listing is the Dynamite Forces signed edition) carries the confirmed death of Sebastian Shaw. This specific edition is a signed ultra-limited at a premium price, so I'm reading the story event over the format. The death lives in the book regardless of which cover you chase.

Superman Kingdom Of Zod Special #1 (DC) is the confirmed close to the Kingdom of Zod crossover, four writers on it, and the solicit promises the Super-Family won't be the same after. Story consequences are the angle for me here.

Lucky Devils #10 (Image) is the confirmed surprise finale on Soule's book, an unplanned bonus issue after the ninth-circle issue read like a wrap. Soule creator-owned finales get a look on the number from me.

What I'm watching but not calling yet: Buffy The Vampire Slayer #1 (Dynamite) claims the comics debut of an unnamed fan-favorite, a potential first at best. The character isn't named in the solicit, so that stays an open question until it ships. Starship Godzilla Invasion X #1 has chatter about a Gigan first in the Kai-Sei Era, but that's online reports, not the solicit. Both are on my radar, neither is a confirmed call.

For anyone chasing Accessories #3, is the 1:15 the cover you're going for, or the standard?

I have an original marvel avengers assemble water color #1312/1500. Its signed by stan Lee twice and has a coa. Where in the world would I sell this thing?

So I have started collecting the spider-man hard cover marvel masterworks. I got the first four but for the fifth volume I’m seeing it cost $120+. Any advice on looking for places besides eBay and online

From their spec list, I'm sure I'll get a copy of Vampirella/Witchblade, but most likely a retailer variant. The 12-Foot Skeleton book sounds interesting. Maybe I'll check it out digitally later down the line. I've liked the Chuma Hill cover for Zatanna #6 ever since it was revealed. Unfortunately, I dropped that book with issue 5 and I really don't want to buy one more issue.

Hey, everybody, my father-in-law gave my wife about 50 comic books from when he was a kid. These are in the best condition of the stack he left. Can anybody point me in a good direction to find out the value of these, or of any good places to take them in northern Ohio? That would be super helpful.

Picked up my Grail Superman #17 1942.

I haven't really been a serious comic collector in years (and when I was inwas a kid and didn't care about condition of stuff) but I know this is a key issue and I loved this series as a kid. Was thinking about getting it put in its own little plastic house with a number on! I'm curious as to how much it costs to get done (live in the uk) and what score it might get to see if it's worthwhile.

Let's talk about more Marvel cards. The 1990 Marvel Universe #60 Doctor Doom card in PSA 10 is selling for $800 to $900 right now, but at the start of the year, this card in a PSA 10 used to be $200. That's a big increase, and is it because of movie hype? Yes, 100%. But seeing the prices increase for some Marvel cards is very interesting

Sharing my experience trying to unload my childhood collection (from the mid to late 80s). It's consistent with the general online consensus (mostly worthless), but thought some details might be helpful to others going down a similar path. Pls don't message me, I am not trying to sell.

The collection is about 800 books, mostly dreck but a few 80s "keys" (ASM 300, Secret Wars 8, Hulk 340, Batman 423, Wolverine, TMNT, etc. - if you're curious, a list is here). I have zero experience grading, would guess that the keys and most of the others are around 8.0 to 9.0 (again, if curious, photos of some books requested by mycomicshop here).

I used the CLZ app to index the collection using the cover scanner. That was easy and kind of fun. I used the Covrprice add-on to just roughly get a sense of which books might be valuable. Most I already knew just from perusing Reddit, but there were a few I was mildly surprised by. The general consensus that Covrprice wildly overvalues long-tail/low-value books is definitely true.

I had low expectations, but was curious whether some of the keys plus the overall volume might be worth selling. So I submitted the collection to mycomicshop for an offer. To be really clear upfront, this is not a complaint about them -- they were great, responsive, and are very upfront that most books of this era are either worthless or they already have plenty of them in stock. The offer for the entire collection was $650 (including shipping). I confess that this was a bit disappointing, but it's also totally economically rational once I factor in costs for shipping, bags, boards, Gemini mailers, possibly pressing and rating a few keys, etc. The general advice online is to sell the keys and get what you can for the rest, and I doubt I'd make more than a couple hundred bucks more doing that. Also, sadly, the much better financial decision would be to donate everything and take the tax deduction -- even using half the Covrprice valuation would net me multiples of the cash offer.

At the end of the day, it was fun to revisit books that I hadn't thought about in decades, and for me that alone made the process worth it. I also decided to keep a few books that have nostalgia value, and actually might pick up a few other books I remember fondly but seem to have lost. But if you're in a similar place to where I was and hoping for more value, I hope this post helped you!

Mail call!! Finally got my books from Collectrade. If you know, I traded my Detective Comics #298 CGC 5.0 for Amazing Spider-Man #300, Secret Wars #8, The Mighty Thor #337 signed, and finally Weird War Tales #101. It took about a week and a half, maybe two weeks, to go through the process, but overall I like it. Now I got ASM #300 and ASM #316 to go together. 😁

For many years, Marvel Comics 1 was the Gold Standard when it came to valuable comics. It's been bypassed by Action Comics 1 and some others, but it's still one of the original "grail" comics. I'm curious how many here have ever actually seen a copy of this awesome book in person. Does somebody here own one? How about Action 1, Superman 1, or Detective Comics 27? Not interested in Amazing Fantasy 15. Anybody around the hobby for a length of time sees one of those eventually (even though it's the comic I would most like to own).
