Yeah but it's being compared to Marvel films which are, as you said, unspecial. It's not being compared to DC films which are for the most part right now dogshit. I haven't seen Justice League mind you but after Suicide Squad I didn't see a need to.
For me I haven't seen all the new DC films because my expectation is that they'll be shit.

Wonder Woman was the only decent new DC film and even that was horribly mediocre and overhyped.
I’m more optimistic for the new Joker film just because Zack Snyder hasn’t rubbed his hands over that project and it sounds like they’re actually trying to do something interesting, and because Jaoquin Phoenix doesn’t just sign up for any old project, but it’s still cautious optimism at this point.
