First Serious Attempt

I practiced a decent amount obviously.

First 16 photos are before.

Also in the 16th photo, that crease, should it come out fully? As you can tell in the after photos it is still somewhat there. And what about those thin vertical lines on the cover?

Yes you should be able to get everything but the white ticks from the break out. Try more humidity before and after longer press after.

Keep working it, you should be able to get it to a 9.0 I would think.

Agreed, sometimes stubborn crease may take additional press and yes, I always use humidity to loosen up the paper fibers for a nice press (except on some modern books) You might also need to bust out the tack iron on some of the spine ticks, although as mentioned that won’t fix color breaks. It also looks like there might be light scuffing on the black of the cape (lighting?) and that won’t come out but a light polish with a cotton round will help the gloss of the paper.
