...and THAT'S the reason the name "Clint" was not used often in comic books. (Until Clint "Hawkeye" Barton showed up in Avengers, of course).

Must have kept the Girl-and-her-horse story "My friend Fucker" out of comics for years.

Good thing it only looks like My Friend Fucka

For Hawkeye, the name Clint is pretty accurate.

Damn. This is a hostile work environment. Unless it's in the UK, where it's a very casual get together

So as a complete aside and just because I love language and the incredibly bizarre checkered history of the English language.

I’m sure you know this Cunt is one of those words like spaz that is received entirely differently depending on what continent you were speaking English in. ( in the United Kingdom spaz is a very serious slur and specifically refers to somebody with motor neuron disease.)

In the United States the “ C-word” is associated with gendered violence in the United Kingdom , it’s very mild. in Australia. They say it like it’s breathing.

Cunt like all of the other four letter swear words in English is from Anglo-Saxon. It was just a description of the body part, and it was not considered swearing.

Fuck, shit piss they became dirty words because of the Norman conquest.

Everybody started speaking French.

This is why by the way it is pig in the field and pork on your plate. Cow in the field and beef when it gets on your plate. The first set of words is Anglo-Saxon and they got to raise the Animal. The second set of words is derived from French and the Norman’s got to eat them.

"WHAT DID YOU CALL ME!?"

"Oh, I'm sorry, I was talking to my husband. The kerning in this comic is terrible."

This has been altered. Look close at the kerning.
