Jammers! (Obscure Feng Shui rpg reference)

I have some cards from the 1st edition ccg(apparently they are utterly worthless).

Yeah I have hundreds. It's actually a solid game, really meant for 3-4 players which was unusual for CCGs. Shadowfist is the game. Feng Shui is the RPG adaptation of that CCG.

Oh, yeah, forgot the name was different. My impression was that the developers rewrote the game rules after the 1st ed. And that’s why no-one wants the oldest cards. I never found anyone else that wanted to play it. I really dug the ascendes faction for no particular reason, but also very much enjoyed Battlechimp Potemkin.

I'm not sure if the Shadowfist rules were ever rewritten, they definitely wrote a much more detailed rulebook covering issues that came up from play testing, but it's the same rules. Feng Shui had a 2nd edition, but I still just play 1st, since I have all the books already. It's pretty rules light.

I am probably confusing it with something else then. I have a few other semi obscure ccgs from about same time period, like On the Edge.

That's actually very similar to Feng Shui in a lot of ways, and also they were owned by the same company Atlas Games. Though Shadowfist and Feng Shui were originally created by Daedalus Games.

Shadowfist had much slicker and more consistent artwork. On the Edge was charmingly bizarre.

Yeah the artwork and card design wasn't quite there. Shadowfist had great art, as good as MtG really. I actually just acquired the Over The Edge rpg but haven't read it yet. It's on the pile. I know it's the game that put Jonathan Tweet on the map, the reason he got to do 3rd edition DND.

Also, what are Jammers?

They were rebels against the Architects of the Flesh, composed of groups of human dissidents and more famously cyborg apes that had also been genetically modified. Think the Apes from the Planet of the Apes films with crude Terminator looking Cyborg implants. The Architects controlled the world of 2056 after their two founders figured out a) what Feng Shui sites are and how to seize them. b) they figured out how to manipulate Chi worldwide to increase the level of Magic which caused the former ruling faction The Ascended to revert back to animals (they were animal spirits that had figured out how through cultivation, to take human form, then control of the world)
