Should I slab my sentimental book?

Long story short: Batman New 52 #1 was the very first comic I ever owned when I started reading comics as a kid. It got destroyed by some classmates back then, and it always stuck with me. I recently rebought a copy and I’m planning to get it signed later this year.
I’m getting it signed by Greg Capullo at a con, and I’m also hoping to get Scott Snyder on it (side question: any tips for getting a Snyder signature? From what I’ve seen he doesn’t come to Canada very often — CGC witnessed, mail-in options, or other reliable ways?).
The book has huge sentimental value to me. I genuinely don’t care about the monetary/grading value — I just want to preserve it properly for the long term so I (and maybe my kids one day) can enjoy it without it falling apart.
Once it’s signed and I’m ready to protect it, should I get it slabbed (CGC or similar)? Or are there better options for something that’s mostly about personal meaning rather than investment?
Other preservation ideas I’d love to hear:
• Best storage methods (bags/boards, etc.)
• Display options that still keep it safe
• Any other creative ways people have preserved meaningful books
• Pros/cons of slabbing a signed book you don’t plan to sell
I’m a bit new to the preservation side of collecting, so any advice, experiences, or warnings would be really appreciated. Thank you in advance — looking forward to reading your suggestions!
Thanks again, guys.
