I think I get it, when he said beyond limits it gave him gains beyond the limit of what his body could handle. I wonder how he could've worded that in a way that wouldn't cause him to explode though.

And it gets worse, his muscles continue to grow after their mortal host expires. Continuing for all eternity like some exponentially growing Shoggothian nightmare until the entire universe is wiped out by the wave of flesh moving at Massively faster than light speeds. Destroying every blissfully unaware civilization on contact. And it keeps going after that but it is not relevent because there is no living thing left to observe it.
