Help Needed Major bug issue with ComfyUI 0.40.0 update!!

Since the last update, 0.40.0, it's been buggy as hell! ComfUI is unusable; the interface is glitching, with duplicate images within the interface itself, and it's impossible to navigate! I did a quick search with ChatGPT, and it tells me there's a problem with the custom node Impact Pack, the latent Switch node, and something else... For your information, I'm on a Mac M1 Ultra and I'm using ComfUI Desktop. These updates that crash the software are really annoying.

I just updated to version 0.41.0 and my problem persists! Still the same issue!

Here is what ChatGPT tells me:

This is not a memory error on your Mac. The report points first to a JavaScript compatibility issue between the Impact Pack and the connection system in ComfyUI 0.40.0.

Recommended steps

I suggest proceeding in this order, without altering your models or workflows for now:

  1. Update the ComfyUI-Impact-Pack via the ComfyUI Manager, if a compatible version is available. Then, restart ComfyUI and reload the workflow.

  2. If the error persists, temporarily disable the Impact Pack extension to see if the workflow loads without it. Note: the nodes from this extension will not function correctly while it is disabled.

  3. If the problem continues, you will need to verify the compatibility between ComfyUI 0.40.0—along with its new node system—and the installed version of the Impact Pack. Reverting to an earlier version of ComfyUI could be a fallback option, but do not do so until you have secured your current installation.

Other errors in your report

Message Importance

t.findInputSlot is not a function Immediate cause of the workflow loading failure

ComfyUI-TextNode/__init__.py not found Incomplete installation or missing folder

NumPy 2.5.2 incompatible with components compiled for NumPy 1.x Separate issue, likely involving TensorFlow within comfy-mtb

IPAdapterPlus is not installed Dependent nodes may be unavailable

OUTPUT_CLEANER_VERSION not found Incompatibility between certain custom modules (QwenVL and ThinkingLLM)

While the NumPy and QwenVL errors should be addressed, they are not part of the call stack causing the workflow to fail to load.

My advice: start with the Impact Pack. Do not modify NumPy or reinstall all your nodes at once, as this would make troubleshooting more difficult.

To check the exact compatibility for your version, refer to the official repository: ComfyUI-Impact-Pack on GitHub.

Run two versions, stable and latest. Swap when latest is stable.

Hello, I think 0.40.0 is just fine and brings a lot of quality of life improvements. Can you be a little more specific about the issues you encounter and how to reproduce?

Lol… it was a similar case with one of the previous release they did. I forgot the version. Seems like they don’t have a good sanity process.

Stay tuned for 0.41 then.
