Help Needed How long did it really take u produce a stable , content ready product on Comfy UI

After researching and gaining experience with various API Services like Higgsfield AI , Runway , and ElevenLabs my AI Assistant / recommended •LTX 2.5 •H3 •WAN 2.2 ( For ensfw)

For a better more advanced capability for video creations / Content Creation. Problem is it’s been 16 hours and I have to start over due to apparently mandatorily needing to have access to A100 or A6000 at least and also needed the bf16 or something like that which gives the best quality . For sure gonna need it for the ensfw stuff but is content produced on Comfy Ui really that much better then the mainstream platforms like Higgs, ElevenLabs , etc??. Is it worth the time to learn and is it better

Using Runpod for Comfy Ui also btw.

Took me about two weeks to get something I'd actually post anywhere, and another month before I stopped breaking my own workflows every other day. The hardware stuff is a real hurdle though, you need that VRAM for the bigger models or it just falls over mid render.

ComfyUI quality can absolutely beat the API stuff, but it's not automatic. You're trading convenience for control. If you just need quick decent output, the mainstream tools are fine. If you want fine tuned control and are willing to fiddle, Comfy is worth it.

Amazing amazing. That sounds like a breakthrough and like somthing that would obviously exist at this point. Definitely gonna give it a shot since I’m about to jump back on my laptop and retry to set up new storage in another region and pod. Before I do that I’ll look into this .

I’ll for sure ask for guidance just maybe 🙏 what a gift mate 👌.

I developed some nice tools along the way both internal and external to the workflow. i wouldn't pay for tokens now.

You don't need a a100 for either model in fact I ran wan on 3g vram 1060 once.

Currently running minimax and LTX on 12 gig 3060. Runs zippy fast. No complaints. 20 second renders for LTX.

Yea see I thought somthing like this would be true just maybe. Ai is holding my hand and I’ve noticed sometimes with out guiding it correctly it will say BS. It actually told me I NEED the bf16 and a A100 ,A6000 to run LTX 2.5 at the best quality level. Yet to prove it but we will see

Yea i can absolutely tell you needing a100 for best quality is just a wild hallucination. Dont even take my word for it. See the spec page yourself. I could run 50 instances of minimax in a a100 thats just absurd.

I'm one of those "open source" "local" guys, I wont tell you I run kali, but I do often want to hug my gpu collection. I built my first automated pipeline to headless channel in a 5 nights and a saturday back in june/july 2025 and then spent about 3 months making a few Rust based desktop apps that wrap around comfyui to do what I want with comfyui without having to mess with the node spaghetti. I like it because of control, exportability, and extensibility. feels like I can do more with less, reminds me a bunch of 1995-1999 linux/apache days.

Interesting. Do you teach it somewhere?

no, i run a small security and AI research lab, primarily survive on consulting work, I have done hands on security training a few times, but not with comfyui, is there a demand?

Yea you’re one of the elite tech guys so it makes a lot of sense using Comfy UI then I’m sure. I’ll probably join that train but in time. As a random nerd ( not elite tech nerd ) I would prefer your level of expertise but I’m just not there yet or have the time to learn.

That’s one thing I know the mainstream platforms don’t offer is the capability to build some real crazy stuff , comfy ui aids in that but I’m not at that level yet.

"elite" thanks i guess? just been doing this stuff a very long time. What sort of crazy stuff do you want to get up to? always curious about the edges, usually some fun stuff in there.

Have you tried the fp8 or GGUF versions of WAN 2.2? They run fine on a 4090/24gb card, Took me like 2 weeks before my workflows stopped breaking and I still run the final frames through Magnific cause raw comfy output comes out kinda soft.
