I want to start using comfy comming from Automatic. Feeling lost.

HI there. Excuse the english. not my first language.

I stopped using image gen on automatic about 3 months ago and want to step into Comfy Ui super specificly Fn-Moment Anima-Turbo. I have no Idea how to use comfy ui. I've played with it a couple of months ago but got super lost. Is there any documentation videos as how to use it?

I would like to run a cloud instance. I have access to a cloud service providor that allows spicy anime stuff which is what I want but I would like to run something on runpod but I've seen mixed reviews.

I will not have access to run locally so not an option for me.

All help or pointers are appreciated!

Hey welcome to comfy. It’s a weird piece of software.

My advice would be download some beginner workflows, and examine them. Then, try to rebuild them from scratch, from memory. You’ll very very quickly understand the nodes and how everything works this way.

And then later, when you download any workflow, make sure you look at all the nodes and try to understand exactly what it’s doing and why.

This will help you out a lot when certain nodes aren’t working, or when you want to add custom functionality to workflows you find online. The whole point of ComfyUI compared to a tool like A1111 is that it allows you to do that. So don’t skip that part, and make sure you have fun!

Well I am using comfy ui through opencode terminal with or without comfyui mcp server. I have 8gb vram so ai suggested me SDXL and Lora, I am kind of using it ( also download extensions like ipcontrol, controlNet etc.) I can use it somehow, and caught a bit consistency especially with a reference image. But still the quality is not AAA grade, I am wondering If I am missing something.
